Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I would echo what the last reviewer said about Tom and his efforts in promoting this museum and the film industry in Fort Lee. If you are lucky enough to bump into Tom when you visit this museum you will be richly rewarded with his encyclopaedic knowledge of Fort Lee and especially its film heritage.

My wife and I have an interest in history and film, so naturally we beat a path to this museum to learn more about the beginnings of the US film industry. Tom was extremely generous with his time, and took us around the whole museum explaining many facets of the current exhibition which is a prelude to the exciting opening of the nearby John Barrymore centre currently scheduled for Oct 2020.

I can't thank Tom enough for making this a special day for my wife and I, and would strongly recommend a visit to this museum if you are interested in film and are visiting the New York area.

We shall definitely be back to visit the John Barrymore centre when it opens, and I intend to spread the word in the UK of its existence.

The Fort Lee Museum is a unique little museum for people who love the early film industry and silent films and amusement park history especially the history of Palisades Park.

They have an interesting 'Children of Fort Lee' exhibition going on right now and it brought back many memories of the 60's & 70's with toys, board games and school pictures. It is a great exhibition for those people growing up in that era.

It is a small museum and you can see the whole thing in about an hour and a half. The staff is also very informative and very nice.

My son saw this museum on the show Mysteries at the Museum. Since he attends a Tech High School and his shop is Entertainment Technologies this was right up his alley. It is a small museum filled with tons of history and if you're lucky enough to visit when Tom is there than you're lucky enough. He is very knowledgeable and told us many interesting stories.

Before Hollywood - There was Fort Lee. this place proves it. Great memorabilia of Palisades Amusement Park as well. On the site of George Washington encampment.
