We visited Theologos because we were interested to see the old capital and stumbled on this interesting little museum whilst walking through the village centre. It's well worth a visit for the tiny two euro entry fee. Lovely house and lots of interesting items. The lady who gave us our tickets was really friendly and came around with us explaining about the history and what everything was in pretty decent English. Glad we found the place.

For a small entrance fee of 3 euros, this folklore museum is not to be missed. Once we had paid our entrance fee, the lady on the desk did give us a brief talk on the history of the museum. Sadly I can't quite remember what she said, other than the museum holds a vast collection of items donated by the islands people, and this was once the residence of someone very important to Theologos and Thassos. Might have been the President of the Island. Of the items on display, these included typical Greek attire for both men and women, photographs, woollen items, a plethora of different tools, oh and two HMV grammaphones! and lots more. Think we spent a good 45 minutes browsing. There is a small gift shop on the floor below the ground floor, selling items made by the residents of the village.
