Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This train depot was once the Gateway to Yellowstone national park, and is suitably grand inside and out. The exhibition is full of photos and memorabilia of bygone days when visitors came by train to visit yellowstone, around 1920 etc.
The museum is free and we spent over an hour looking at all the exhibits, then watching the long goods trains which still use the line along the front of the depot.

Beautifully preserved. Interesting displays. Learn how railroads were built and their importance in settling the west and promoting tourism to the area. Also includes local artists gallery. Eat at the Northern Pacific Beanery - on site of the original railroad restaurant.

Nice history of the Railroad. Takes an hour to see. The museum was former train station. The building is nice.

The renovation they have made kept the dignity, beauty, and history intact for a great authentic feel of history. The displays and information on Livingston's rich railroad history were lively and entertaining. The collection of real-life artifacts and the stories behind them gave plenty to think about. The collection of old photos also gave great insight into the development of the town. Awesome little museum.

Great little museum! Really liked that it was compact and well rounded. The display on train snow plows was my favorite.

Great experience. Wonderful curator - welcoming and interesting. (Gave us lots of tips for places to visit in Montana.) The museum gives a great historical background to the area. We loved it!

Lots of Railroad and Yellowstone history but was also very aware we were not alone in the Depot... my arm was grabbed and swear someone whispered in my ear. When I got home I Googled it and sure enough this place is known, even published in several books for its paranormal activity!!!

I came across this place by accident driving though town. Great for train lovers and local history buffs. I enjoyed my walk though and it's only $5. They also had a small section upstairs on movies made in Montana.

It was closed when we were there but we walked around the outside. It is a very beautiful building, lots of detailed architecture.
