Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great experience. Wonderful curator - welcoming and interesting. (Gave us lots of tips for places to visit in Montana.) The museum gives a great historical background to the area. We loved it!

Best museum in town. Elk exhibit and video were fascinating. The documented history of the train as the conduit for the first public visitors to Yellowstone was also very interesting. Interior architecture pretty too. We were there the last day of the regular season, and it'll be closed in fall/winter as a special events center.

Excellent museum with information about the history of Livingston and relationship to Yellowstone, trains, and changing exhibits (this year was on animal migrations). Staff are enthusiastic about the museum and the history. Absolutely worth while seeing.

My train enthusiastic husband was happy to find this hidden gem. The man who sold the tickets, at a fair $5 pp, was very informative and interesting. He talked about the sights as well as relayed his own experiences with the rail road. Glad we stopped in.

The best attraction at the Livingston Depot Center was the one who sold tickets. He made us laugh so much and he explained everything so well.

The building of the Livingston Depot Center is well made and beautiful.

President Johnson often came back to this place.

I wish I could meet Bertha Gonder. She never complained and washed all the windows of the trains. Wow!

They intertwined the Yellowstone with the Northern Pacific.

Inside the trains, they had delicious food.

We explored the whole Livingston Depot Center.

In this city nearby they made movies. Wow!

In the second floors, we could see the whole Livingston Depot Center.

There were some paintings as well.

We had fun and we learned a lot as well.

We will never forget the one who sold our tickets.

Lots of Railroad and Yellowstone history but was also very aware we were not alone in the Depot... my arm was grabbed and swear someone whispered in my ear. When I got home I Googled it and sure enough this place is known, even published in several books for its paranormal activity!!!

Nice museum with good history. It was nice to see old pictures and to see what the train station looked like in its hay day.

Nice train museum and something for everyone. My husband is a train enthusiast so he was in heaven.
If you are traveling with kids they have kid friendly things ( dress up area, sit in the Conductor Seat and flip switches, try the telegraph machine.)
[if you try the telegraph machine someone upstairs and send messages to someone downstairs]!
Very well laid out, movies on trains, a model system, art and movies made in Montana.
Kids $4.00 adults 5.00.
Plan an hour or two.
