About
The West wouldn’t be the West without horseback riding. Miles of trail lead out from the ranch into pristine Montana wilderness, where guides and experienced horses ensure a fabulous adventure for all skill levels. For a real taste of the Old West, you can enjoy a good old fashioned chuck wagon dinner down by the river or a horse drawn sleigh ride in the winter to our Mountain Man campsite.

We did the two hour horse back ride that ended at the cowboy bbq dinner. It was very relaxing and only a little scary on the descent. We had minimal experience. The dinner was delicious and the view near the water was beautiful.

Best family reunion, ever!

There was beauty, activities, comfort, adventure, Yellowstone, trout fishing and corn hole.

Twenty adults gathered for a week at the 320 Guest Ranch. The breakfast is included and made for a perfect gathering spot to start the day. The three bedroom houses have full kitchens and family favorites were served several nights. But McGills restaurant on ranch was 5 star!

We reserved half day horseback riding and the horses are beautiful and the trail to mountain top ridges was breathtaking.

Don’t miss the horses coming to work from the pasture at 7am and going back across the highway to pasture for the night at 5 pm.
What a sight! 63 gorgeous animals trotting by all at once.

The front desk helped us reserve side-by-side rentals from Canyon Adventures a few months before arriving. What fun! Riding on US Forest Service roads to mountain vistas that were spectacular.

The beds are comfortable, clean rooms, great food, welcoming staff, professional horsemen…..And a gift shop with Huckleberry Ice Cream Sandwiches!!! The best.

I highly recommend 320 Guest Ranch as a home base for exploring Yellowstone National Park and trout fishing the Gallatin, Madison, and Taylor Fork Rivers.

My absolutely favourite place to rest and rejuvenate! The grounds are spectacular, staff is always professional and helpful. Guest safety is the number one priority for the wranglers ( and that's exactly why you won't " gallop even once during our one hour trail ride!!.. this was in response to a guest complaint about not running the horses). Cabins are clean, comfortable and inviting. The food!!!!! , oh the food!!.... whether you eat in the dining room or saloon, you will not be disappointed....fresh grilled brook trout with sauteed fiddlehead ferns, wild mushroom risotto....yeah baby! Also a full bar.
Just booked my 2021 trip, that will be my fourth time staying at the 320. Need I say more?

We planned a family vacation to see Yellowstone last minute and found this property because we could get a cabin that would sleep 8 of us. It was awesome. The cabin fits up to 10 people and we had plenty of room. The property was beautiful tucked away in the Montana wilderness. Great hiking trails nearby, the ranch has horses you can ride (although we didnt) and fly fishing. My family loved the cabin stay and the fun they had around the property when we weren’t in Yellowstone. It also came with hot breakfast every morning. My kids already want to come back next year.

overall very good. affordable, would have liked to gallop at least once. Scenery was just ok, nothing you would not see from the road....overall, i only had an hour so it did what I needed, rode a horse for an hour. People were good, friendly, service was good. I would go again.

Booked a 2 hour trail ride for my family. I am hyper-obsessed with details so when I booked it for 130pm, we planned to show up a few minutes before. When we walked in the woman at the desk acted like we had completely insulted her because we hadn't shown up 30 minutes before. She insisted we were told that. When I told her I would have remembered, she shot back at me, telling me that I spoke with her and she gave me that direction. The aggressive attitude from her was way too much - and in front of our kids.
On to the ride. The guide was very nice but the 2 hour trip in the Montana "wilderness" was mainly a walk on a very narrow, muddy trail. The horses didn't take much direction and the one my daughter was on tried to walk back to the barn and almost tossed her. The horse had to be held on a lead rope by the guide. Something just didn't feel right.

Don't get me wrong. The property was beautiful and the guests seemed happy. Didn't have a chance to go to the restaurant but I've heard it's good. But when you're paying $280 for 4 people to take a trail ride, you expect some level of courtesy and appreciation for your business. We didn't feel that at all, especially from the moment we walked in the door.

The scenery here is incredible. We didn’t use the ranch so cant comment on that.

We stayed in a three bedroom lodge. The upstairs bedroom was on a mezzanine to the living and kitchen area below. Unfortunately I could hear the fridge humming whilst I was in bed on the mezzanine level so it didn’t help with sleeping. The windows need a good wash too. Apart from that it was fine.

Breakfast was about a 100 yard walk over in the restaurant building. A special mention for the tasty sausages.

There are some great family games to play outside, a teepee and a big firepit you can sit around in the evening.

Thanks for your words - We will have maintenance check all the refrigerators in the large homes to see which is humming. We do try to keep the windows as clean as possible so everyone can enjoy the views - but as I am sure you noticed it's a dusty place so it's a daunting task. But I will pass your concern onto our executive housekeeper. Glad you enjoyed the breakfast and our common areas.

Beautiful ranch. It was snowing but our large group had a really nice dinner under a large tent with warm heaters. Great food and atmosphere and friendly people! I would love to go back to do some horseback riding some day.

So glad you enjoyed your meal at the 320 Ranch, sorry that mother nature didn't quite cooperate. The only thing certain about the weather in Montana is that it's unpredictable. Hope to see you again if your in the area.

We had a corporate dinner at the Ranch. It had snowed but they accommodated us under a big tent. The food was chicken, pork, beans, cornbread, salad and desserts. We had a great time and wish the weather had been better so we could have done some fly fishing or taken rides in the horse drawn cart. I took information so that I could plan a visit with family sometime. The setting was beautiful and the Ranch manager was great!

Thanks for your kind words - glad you enjoyed the ranch. Sorry mother nature wasn't cooperative - she's a bit tough to deal with at times. Hope to see you again!
