Well worth the stop for all ages and levels of interest.
Fantastic. Very impressive. Worth it. Modest fee. Includes informative short (15 min) guided tour before you’re free to roam. Gift shop. Plan on spending more time than you think you will. We stopped on a family trip w/ an all ages group with varying interest in computers. (Historic video games, too!) We all enjoyed it very much! Don’t be fooled by it’s apparent small size and location in a business park. We could easily have stayed longer. There are some fantastic artifacts ranging throughout the history of recorded tabulation, from a cuneiform tablet, Gutenberg press, and every imaginable form of computing device since then. There are many rarities in book and computer form, including pages from Shakespeare’s First Folio. They also have the only one of the three signed (Wozniak) Apple 1 computers that’s on public display, as well as the last surviving UNIVAC 418-11, Mainframe Computer used by NASA for the Apollo Moon Missions. There are displays and artifacts addressing how computers have impacted medicine, work, play, air and space travel, I could go on. The modest fee is well worth it. Donations are also gladly accepted. (They’ve done wonders with their resources, but getting rid of the fluorescent lighting that bounces off of everything would be a big upgrade.) Henry gave a very informative tour of the early history portion and then we were free to roam the rest of the museum on our own. Nice little gift shop as well. Will definitely visit again when in the area.
We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to write such a comprehensive review of your experience at the museum! Our founders spent decades amassing a comprehensive collection which spans 4,000 of information technology - and it sounds like you explored every nook and cranny. We look forward to seeing you again the next time you pass through Bozeman!

A Small but Exquisite Museum packed with material
Amazing museum with so much interlinked material covering the beginning of computing through Enigma and Bletchley Park to the era of personal computing. A whole section covered Apple's role in history with extensive examples of hardware. The story of robots, again from the beginning through to recent times. A further leg covers the early space era and how the computer related to its activities. Even managed to explain quantum computing and the future of AI. A number of significant items of original and unique exhibits that really bring it all to life with lots of interactive parts that interested a computer and sci fi buff as well as my family Finally a really good store with interesting books, games, toys and other less seen items. Had a great time, but did feel a bit old as I had used a number of the exhibits in my working career!!

    Amazing!
I wish I'd given myself more time but I thought since it is a small museum I could move through in an hour. I was wrong. There's so much great info and an incredible display of different machines, I likely needed two hours to absorb it all. I'll remember for next time I'm in Bozeman. Definitely a stop for those who love history and technology.

    Don't miss this amazing collection!
Not a total surprise since this was so highly recommended by friends in Bozeman - but, WOW. Incredible assembly of items from 4,000 years ago up to current times. Really, if you have even a passing interest in computers, communication devices or coding, this museum should be top of list for you! I'm not a computer geek but I was fascinated. Great staff orientation to get you started too.

This place is absolutely amazing. The artifacts on display and the information that runs along side are just incredible. It is a gem for geeks, ordinary people 😀, children, students, in fact everyone will learn something incredible. I loved being so close to some of the best items relating to computer science, the missions to the moon, robotics and brand new quantum computing. Go and enjoy it for yourself.

What a great gem of a museum. Something for everyone. Easy parking, and you are up close and personal with the exhibit pieces. Loved every room, but esp the area on computers and beginning of computers was awesome to me. You could even play one of the original video games. Hubby’s favorite part was the AI and quantum area. We were only there about 90 minutes, but could have spent longer reading even more info. The overview at the beginning (about 10 min if I remember right) was super helpful to give us an overview. After that, we could take as much time as we wanted on our own.

Wow, thank you for this enthusiastic review! And be sure to let us know what you plan to use the floppy discs for. Lots of folks buy them as souvenirs, but I have a feeling you might actually store data on yours!
