Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I grew up here four decades ago and it is not anything like my childhood memories. High quality restaurants, intriguing shops, great art galleries, and live entertainment venues abound. They were all just wish list items for me back then, which is why my wife and I left for "greener pastures." Now we wish we had stayed. Access to nearby blue ribbon trout streams, excellent ski resorts and Yellowstone Park are only an hour or two drive away. Endless hikes in the nearby mountains range from easy to technically challenging, and the picturesque lakes and waterfalls that they unlock for you just beckon the outdoor lover trapped inside. Visit Bozeman in the late summer or early fall to get the best weather. Christmas is beautiful and milder temps than you might think. Avoid the spring season, as the weather is too volatile then. The local real estate prices are climbing fast and soon will be north of ANY city in the country. So enjoy it while it still remains habitable, for soon the "crush" of tourists will be simply oppressive.

We were in town for a few days for a wedding. It happened to be same time at the Sweet Pea festival, there was live music, food and crafts. There are many great restaurants there, my fav was Jam. Good shopping for gifts and souvenirs. And, great coffee shops and bars. Something for everyone.

Downtown Bozeman has an excellent vibe. Bozeman is a small town and the downtown area is a beautiful adornment to the city. There are a number of retail shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants lining the main street. This is definitely a happening place as was evidenced by the crowds during our visit on a weekend evening. There are old brick buildings and newer style buildings in downtown. We enjoyed walking along the main street, enjoying the evening sun and soaking in the energy from the crowds. One thing that surprised me is that a number of the boutiques and galleries seemed to close early (even though restaurants were open and that's where the crowds were). There were a number of shops selling clothing and outdoor gear. While street parking was free and we found a parking spot easily, I can imagine that it might be difficult to find a spot on the street on crowded evenings.

Enjoyed walking around this area for a few hours. Many interesting shops. Couple of the art galleries had nationally known artists with outstanding work. We ended the afternoon at one of the bars on their back patio overlooking a stream. Great way to end the visit.

Downtown Bozeman is quaint but offers everything you would want - western city with shops, souvenirs, restaurants etc. There are a few pubs/breweries which were all nice to stop in and try some different beer that you may not find at home.

It's small enough that you can walk from end to end. We stayed at a hotel on the main street and it was very convenient to be able to walk around town.

1st time to Bozeman, as we came for the Kenny Chesney show, and we were very impressed with the city and especially downtown Bozeman. Many of the historic brick buildings have been preserved and there is truly something for everyone here. Ton's of quaint shops, restaurants, breweries and distilleries, great place to stroll on a sunny day.

Cute downtown except the entire town is overrun with bums. Very unappealing. I don't like walking to my car looking over my shoulder the entire time. My hotel was surrounded on all 4 sides with bums literally living on the streets, passed out and begging. I was excited to visit here and now I'm left disappointed.

After leaving our hotel and heading for the freeway we decided to check out the historic downtown before heading east. What a pleasant surprise! At 9:30 in the morning the town was bustling and many people already out walking. Loved the old buildings and just the feel of this town. So many interesting shops to browse. Wish we could have lingered awhile but heading to the east coast and needed to get on the road.

We came into Bozeman two days before a Road Scholar tour of Yellowstone. Made one fatal error- we did not get a rental car for the two days! We did use Uber 3 times. On the second day we went to the downtown 8 block area, which contained many's different stores, from tee shirt to high end art and jewelry , breweries and just about every type of food you could want. We found the employees of all places we entered to be helpful, friendly and pleasant to deal with , even if we bought nothing. They answered questions and provided information on how to get to what we wanted. It was an enjoyable experience and we would certainly return.

Downtown Bozeman is a blast from the past with a touch of contemporary thrown in. A mix of retail, restaurants and bars. Summertime on Thursday’s is Music on Main which is a must attend good time.
