Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An amazing winter hike to the falls. Totally worth it! It was easy to follow the tracks. We went back on the other trail and enjoyed the other ice falls.

Gravel trail with a slight incline; good for beginner hikers and families. Lots of people with dogs on trail. It takes about a half hour to get to the Falls when walking slowly. Falls are very nice. A few benches and rocks to sit on and take it all in.

This was a very easy hike for our family (age ranging from 9 to 38). We enjoyed the scenery. The VERY gradual incline was easy for everyone & the waterfall was lovely. We even saw Mountain Goats on the ridge overlooking the parking lot (with binoculars).

This was our first stop while in Montana. It was the perfect start to what would be one of the most amazing trips we had ever taken.

Road closed, went all the way up there to go hike the grotto and palisades and both roads are closed, but no sign or any info saying this was closed. Would have been nice instead of waisting my gas.

We all enjoyed this hike and the falls were well worth seeing. It was not too strenuous of a hike and a well marked trail

Family friendly easy trail. Takes about 1.4 miles to get to the falls. Can actually enter the water below the falls to make it a swim area if wanted.

We had a great hike to Grotto Falls and back in snow boots on a well packed trail. The falls were simply gorgeous in the snow!

Unfortunately, we could not get there. Hyalite Canyon road is CLOSED, which we did not discover until we got upmto Hyalite Reservoir. Googlemaps did not show the closure. We also wanted to see Palisade Falls, but it’s along the same route. One more thing we can’t see, I guess. But Hyalite Reservoir is beautiful. I saw another review that mentioned the detour, but once we were directed back on the main road, it was still closed, so we had to turn around.

If you are driving out to see Palisades Falls, make sure to also take in Grotto Falls. I thought the 1.2 mile hike - one way - is more interesting, more natural, and the end result - the falls themselves - just as dramatic. Large parking lot, slight uphill path.
