Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The park us beautiful, however the 5 portapitties are no where near adequate for the size of park. No toilet paper....leaves option of toilet use in lake....not best plan garbage cans overflowing ..needs some real love to be the place it should be....real bathrooms, a place to shower off would be amazing large dumpsters maybe..just sad

This was amazing. The first thing I saw was a beautiful lake. There were people swimming and a mom was helping her child to swim.

There was a beautiful hotel nearby.

There was a beach as well. We could have more than hundred people on that beach. Very comfortable.

We also had a view on the mountains.

There was a shelter and a picnic table.

Worthwhile to see!

This park is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors. The little lake is great for swimming, SUP, kayaking, fishing and just hanging out on the beach. There are hiking trails to enjoy and a brewery across the way. There is also a volley ball area and grassy areas to play in. The parking lot is a good size and there are bathrooms open seasonally. It is a great place to enjoy time outside. Please keep it clean and respect the area and wildlife!!

Thanks to the many organizations and individuals who have had a hand in creating and maintaining this great swimming spot. It has a really nice, low-key feel to it — just local families (and a few visitors, like us) enjoying the water and a picnic on a sunny summer day.

What more could you want! This tiny little lake is awesome. On one side, there is a sandy beach with access to the lake. There is a small fishing dock and climbing rock. A trail goes around the lake for walking. On the far side, is MAP brewing. The surrounding mountains create a stunning view as a backdrop while enjoying yourself.

Using Google, I looked up the history of this place. I am now impressed more than ever. It used to be a gravel pit that the community converted into this beautiful place. So cool.

We got into Bozeman around 1, and wanted to go for a hike. This was a very nice spot--there is a reservoir, and a lot of good hiking along the river. There is also a trail that goes over to Cherry Creek, which is lovely too--we walked over there and then got an Uber back to our motel.

Great park with a beach that is super close to downtown (2 miles)! Kids loved playing in the water and sand. Locals were super nice too! Across the lake is brewery with grassy area to hang out in if you don't like sand.

Great for families as has small lake for swimming and nice flat hikes surrounding it. Not good for dogs that need a good run as not permited to be off leash.

Though dogs are not allowed on the grassy or lake property of the park, they are welcome on the trails just 50 yards from the parking lot. Those trails go through the East Gallatin River bottomlands. Very fun for people and dogs

Best to take your dog for a walk somewhere else because you can't have a dog in this park
It would be nice if they would bring in cleaned sand the place is kind of dirty

Hello Mukgo, You can walk your dog on the GVLT trails just outside the park boundary, just not inside the park. The city of Bozeman sets those rules to avoid animal/human confrontations and ensure reasonably good hygiene for those who use the lake. There are other dog-friendly parks in Bozeman, have you gone to those yet? Our Rotary Club does a cleanup each spring, including sand cleanup and raking. Yet, because it is 1st or 2nd most-used park in the system, much of sand gets carried by kids to the waters edge, if not eroded away into the lake by rain and snow. During an expansion planned for the next year or two, we likely will add new and more sand at that time.

I would not swim in this pond due to dogs. There are great BBQ's for the family to enjoy. The cinema is a walk away. Beautiful willow trees for shade. Also, ducks and ducklings abound in Spring.

You might be confusing Bozeman Beach with Bozeman Pond. The Bozeman Pond is next to the Mall with the Cinema; this park is located at East Gallatin Recreation Area and is locally known as Bozeman Beach which is north of town adjacent to MAP Brewing (near no cinemas) and does not allow dogs around the lake.
