Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

This small museum gives the history of Yellowstone and its creation as our nation's first national park. It's a fascinating look into the establishment of the national park system and all of the infrastructure that allowed for visitors. There are a variety of artifacts that spotlights the challenges early visitors faced. It makes one appreciate the ease at which Yellowstone is now accessed, and gives you an appreciation for all of the parties that worked together to make that possible. Adults $10, and ticket is good for two consecutive days.

Cute little museum by the airport. All of the exhibits are downstairs so don’t let the small exterior fool you. It’s about an hour if you need to kill time before a flight

This was the cutest find. It is located at the Billings airport so don't be concerned about the directions. It is so much bigger than it looks from the outside. We watched videos and walked around checking things out. Thought we would be there about 30 minutes and ended up touring for about 2 hours.

What a nifty little museum located at the Billings Airport! If you're a couple hours early for your flight, you should check in, then walk across the parking lot to this place.

First, don't be fooled by its small size (looking from the outside). Besides the first floor and the patio exhibits, there's a basement level full of displays. In fact, it's one of the best displays of Native American artifacts I've seen in a long time.

I'm not sure if they have a parking lot or not. If not, you can always park in the terminal parking lot. This little museum is FREE! However, they take donations and if you like it (like I did), I encourage you to throw in a few bucks. Enjoy!

Love this museum! Way bigger than you think it will be. The staff is over the top nice and knowledgeable. Must see for Native and Western artifacts. They have a fun scavenger hunt game for kids or adults. Admission is donation based.

I have been touring this museum almost since it opened, and it gets better with every viewing. The museum is located on the outskirts of the Billings airport. It's a small museum, but the exhibits are well done and very interesting. Definitely worth a stop!

Free. There's more here than you'd think, and that's because most of it is below grade, built into the hill. Don't miss the 10-min video including an elder who has now passed on. A lot of nice examples of American Indian artistically embellished moccasins, dresses, etc., and a fascinating wagon that was used to put out grass fires. A well-stocked gift area includes quite a few books about local history. A patio appears to be designed for group events, and has an overlook binocular for viewing the city.

The museum is packed with authentic artifacts that are well preserved and interesting. My favorites were the horse tack used by both the Native Americans and the calgary and the Native American clothing and accessories. It is much bigger than it looks from the outside. It also has a nicw gift shop with reasonable prices. It's literally right across the parking lot from the airport and totally worth a visit.
