Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have tried to stop here each day on our way to one sight or another. There is always something going on. Great place to see a returning fisherman, maybe even buy some fillets for dinner. And to see the sharks eat up the fish carcasses The unloading of the freighters in their unique style is worth your time and a picture. Or perhaps the tide and surf are up. Big wave crashing onto the pier.

We kept coming back to this area at different times of the day and different weather conditions. The sea is wild and the boats being loaded into and out of the water are a fascinating thing to watch.

at sunset when the fishing boats come in go down and watch as they clean their catch. The sharks come from every where to feed off the scraps that they throw into the water.

Located in the old convict precinct of kingston which is well worth a visit, the pier itself is nothing special.

The supply ship comes about every 5 - 6 weeks, it would be very interesting to watch how they unload it by boats.

Its this spot where all imports land, in heavy seas and big swells that the reefs do little to impact. Amazing how goods are landed and how fishing tours are run. Have to be there to watch!

Hopefully a cargo ship will come in while you're visiting Norfolk. It did not on this visit for us but we have enjoyed the spectacle of unloading on previous trips.

The reason to wait is once the boats come in and the fisherman start cleaning the fish and throwing the guts back in the water the most magnificent sharks come in and fight over the food, amazing to watch!

This place is a very important place for the islanders as it is where ships come in with cars, busses and supplies. Have a look at the photos of how trucks and cars get off loaded.

Many old buildings near by. 1850s. Loads of history and examples of the brutal penal colony. Pier is large and plenty of action. If possible come when the ships bring in supplies and small local boats unload anything from pellets of food to vehicles. A must see if possible. Check with locals for dates can be wether dependent. Lovely well kept area. You can see the lone pine in distant horizon. Must drive up footy hill drive to Queen Elizabeth look out. Spectacular views of the local area including Kingston Pier.
