This place is a very important place for the islanders as it is where ships come in with cars, busses and supplies. Have a look at the photos of how trucks and cars get off loaded.

Many old buildings near by. 1850s. Loads of history and examples of the brutal penal colony. Pier is large and plenty of action. If possible come when the ships bring in supplies and small local boats unload anything from pellets of food to vehicles. A...More

This photo is taken from the hill above the Kingston pier and from this lookout, you can see the view right along the lagoon. It is very beautiful, peaceful and emphasises the horrors of the colonial prison walls that stand below.

We saw the cargo being unloaded from the ship with the traditional barges carrying the goods ashore very interesting. The next day they moved to Cascade Bay so we visited there as well.

It was really interesting to watch the boats lifted in and out of the water and inspect the days catch. Also a great view

Kingston pier is a must see. If a windy day waves are exceptionally large and you can appreciate how so many ships were wrecked. Much history to enjoy at this popular site on Norfolk

This has to be one of the must see on Norfolk. They say it is sight to behold when the ships with freight are unloading. This is a difficult pier with a shallow harbour for freight, this has been a skill handed down to many...More

We were lucky enough to be on the island when the ship came in. We enjoyed the process of unloading from ship, to lighters to the wharf........very time consuming, but interesting.
