Very nice place to know a little bit about the tea production. You can also taste tea there, and some local products.

We visited both the Gorreana factory and Porto Formoso, and found Porto Formoso to be a much better visit. Porto Formoso is smaller, more peaceful and tranquil, whereas Gorreana feels more industrial and not as well kept. The factory’s surroundings are very nice, and you...More

Cha Porto Formoso and Gorreana are the only European Tea plantations so as tea lovers we had to visit one of them. Because I read that this one is more quiet and with less tourists we decided to go to Cha Porto Formoso instead of...More

This was along our route so we decided to stop. We watched a short introduction film before beginning the brief tour. As a tea lover learning about its harvest and fabrication was interesting. We enjoyed a cup of tea before heading on our way.

Great views over the tea plantation towards the ocean. 3 varieties: Orange Pekoe, Pekoe and Broken Leaf. A video and a small museum. A good stop for 45 minutes on this lovely island.

We looked for--and passed--the Formosa Tea plantation, before turning around and trying again. The White building looks like a small private mansion or hotel, right on the seaward side of the road. There is a small, hanging tea pot sign. And a parking lot, once...More
