The Flash.. boating lake etc.is a wonderful place for families and especially for photographers, you will find ducks, geese, swans by the ton! local nature reserve with a range of wildlife to keep you interested . the hides are good plenty of ducks and swan. the walks are great for clearing the mind .

we walked the Leigh Branch canal towpath, which passes through Pennington Flash (and other wetland reserves). Good facilities, interesting interpretation and some great wildlife. The reserve changes dramatically through the year, with wildfowl a speciality in the winter.

Nice views and lots of routes to walk or ride. Small parks for the children and a large lake with lots of wildlife living there. Only dislike is that you have to pay to park

I'm not aware of any. However you may want to check with Wigan Metro or local vets who may be able to confirm.

I don't think the council will have a problem with the scattering of the ashes, just a quick call will settle your mind. Also it is a lovely thought.
