We loved this place and it was a sunny warm September afternoon for our annual friends get together. They have bouchée ball and plenty of space, but the food truck was Tacos (so-so) and was not decorated much for fall. There are several other wineries in this area and we did not feel this was very competitive with the ambiance of the others. The staff was warm and friendly. The wasps were flying in our face the whole time without any effort to control them (great for the environment, but not so good with thousands of bottles of wine). Unfortunately, we wanted to like the place, but just didn’t enjoy the afternoon with the wasps.

From the moment we stepped onto the Schram property, we were treated with complete disrespect from the staff. We were lectured and treated like a group of immature, drunk college students which was completely unacceptable, inaccurate, and undeserved. While we were surprised by this, we chalked it up to a few crabby staff members, and hoped it would get better as the day went on. We were mistaken. We went down to the tasting and the disrespect continued. We were an engaged group of women, excited to learn about and taste the variety of wines. While we were aware of and adhering to the rules (no being wild, no talking while the "instructors" were talking, etc.), we were unaware that there was a rule of no fun allowed. Truly. You should have this on your wall: "No fun allowed." I think one woman in our group laughed or made a comment about liking the wine, and Ron, "shh-ed" them, and proceeded to storm off and said "I AM DONE WITH THEM!" How incredibly unprofessional. My four year old knows better than to treat people like this. Schram needs to figure out a way for people to have a tasting and have a bit of fun. Scott did his best to lessen the blow, but it was still so incredibly uncomfortable. You would have thought Ron was the customer. Please inform Ron that we paid $325 for this experience. Treat us like paying customers. At the very beginning of the tasting, Aaron Schram came down to kick off the event. He talked to us about his vision for the future of Schram, and how he wants us all to tell our family and friends. We will certainly be telling our family and friends. We will make them aware that this is not a place to go if you want to have an ounce of fun with your friends or family. Perhaps there are some people out there that want to be boring, submissive patrons who simply sip wine and don't speak a single word. If so, what a great experience for them! I am extremely disappointed. I put a lot of effort into planning a special, private event and it was completely ruined by your disrespectful staff. Typically if I have a bad customer experience, I don't say anything and just choose to take my business elsewhere. However, this experience was so incredibly terrible that I had to say something. I would hate for another group to have such a disappointing experience. If you are thinking of going to Schram for a fun event of wine tasting, dont do it.

Hi Hayley - I'm glad we were able to connect over the phone to talk more about your experience with your visiting bachelorette party. We at Schram Vineyards take feedback very seriously to ensure all customers receive the best experience possible. We have discussed this with the appropriate staff members and are implanting new policies regarding how we handle large groups tastings. Our seated barrel room tastings have been a mainstay of our company for many years with success as both fun and educational. Thank you for the valuable feedback on your experience as we continually aim to improve. Please don't hesitate to reach out via email as we have done already with any further discussion. Thank you!

Very disappointed, went for a cigar rolling event, you do not get to roll your own cigar nor do they demonstrate how they roll it. The cigar was very tiny (no longer than your finger and about as big around as your pinky).
We tried to call and clarify event details prior to going and never received a call back or a response to any emails. When we arrived and learned the details we tried to ask questions and were told they were “too busy” to talk to us. The wine tastings and glasses are a little pricey compared to other wineries. The only plus was there is plenty of places to sit and there was a good food truck on-site.

Hello - Thank you for providing this feedback. We always want our events and the vendors we partner with for our events to represent our winery well and I am sorry if that was not the case. It is never our intention to mislead our guests. We have been having successful cigar nights for many years and I am sorry if the event this last week was less than a wonderful experience for you! We will address this with our cigar rolling partner and staff so we can make sure future ones do not disappoint. If you would like to correspond further on this, please email me at ashley@schramvineyards.com. Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that the bruschetta didn’t meet your expectations this time. Our kitchen team is always striving to create the best dishes, and we appreciate your input. We’ll be adding more bread to the dish moving forward to ensure a better experience. We hope you'll give us another chance soon!

They have it going on! Lots of selections of both beer and wine. The wine is very nice. It will match up with any professional wine you've tasted before. Also, they feature Minnesota grapes as well as blends. We bought a couple of bottles to take home. The grounds are beautiful and you over look a lake. We would go here again.

Our first time here. Sign says -“Say hi to Bob” and Bob the owner was here to greet everyone - and thank us for coming to the winery. They have wine tasting and beers in another building. We only did the wine tasting, but it was fun, informative and a wonderful Bubbly Rose that was super refreshing. We sat on the patio overlooking the Bocce Ball court and a lake- you are up on a hill so it is a pretty view and we had a piece of quiche which was delicious. Pretty place to go -close to Waconia. We went here and to Sovereign Estates, as they are only 5 miles apart. Fun afternoon. The wine tastings were $13 and $10 but you got about 6 different wines in your tastings. If you found this helpful, please give me a thumbs up! Thanks Enjoy!

Of the three wineries in Waconia this is by far my favorite. The setting, on a rise overlooking a small lake in the valley below, is beautiful -- especially at any time of the day or evening. You can sit at one of the tables or on a boulder and watch the sun go down or others play a game of bocce ball. Or you can get into a game yourself or bring friends along. I'm not into wine drinking much, but Schram has several wines I do enjoy a glass of. I've bought bottles of their Bonfire wine at my local liquor store and my guests have heartily consumed them. I don't drink beer so I can't personally comment on their microbrews, but my hubby and friends can't leave the place without having a few each. Did I mention I was the designated driver? But still, I have a good time even without drinking at Schram's. On weekends they bring in a food truck or two as they don't have a restaurant onsite. You usually don't know which one(s) will appear, but the food is always good. Even children can keep themselves occupied while Mom and Dad partake of the offerings. Good for Bachelor/Bachelorette parties, date nights, friends getting together, young and seasoned citizens, etc. Give them a try and you'll come back. I moved 25 miles away from Waconia yet I'm still doing the 'Winery Tour' for people.

We stopped here over the holiday weekend and felt as if we were dropping in on a family event -- not a business. We enjoyed the wines and beers we tried but felt like those working were socializing with their friends and the many children present (including behind the bar) rather than with guests. We often enjoy wineries because they teach us about their process, what they grow, etc, but came away with little this time that we didn't overhear. There were also only a few menus present to look at the wine offerings ( only a handful laminated to the bar) , in contrast to others where there are many so you can easily see and write on and make notes. When we first got there, the bar was so crowded we couldn't see the wine menu. It is definitely a young business, so in a year or so we will be back when they have themselves more established.

Hi Stacey, Thank you for coming to visit us and for taking the time to provide your feedback on your first visit to our winery. We are so glad you liked the wines, beers, and setting, but sorry that you felt you had "dropped in on a family event." Our goal is to make every guest feel special and like part of our winery family and I'm sorry that was not the case with your visit. I believe your visit did coincide with several out-of-town friends and families visiting the winery over the holiday weekend so the particular timing of your visit may have been filled with more familiar chatter than is usual and at a very busy time. And while we are a family-run business, many of our customers have come to feel like family to us! We love to interact with our guests, meet new people and would love nothing more than to share our passion, story, and process with you on your next visit! Thank you also for the feedback on the tasting sheets. With the additon of some new wines and the beer recently released, we had just updated the menu prior to this weekend and apologize there were not enough to go around--it was one of our busiest weekends to date and we now know how to better prepare for that. We hope you will come back to see us soon and we would love to give you more of the experience you were looking for, which is something we love to do! Coincidentally, we received a very positive Yelp review the same day you posted yours (7/5/14). Our goal is for you to have that same level of satisfaction and service on your next visit. Thank you again, Stacey, for the feedback. It helps us improve our new and growing business! We look forward to your next visit.

We visited this winery and tap room on Sunday. Food truck was there and the food looked good. We had just come from lunch so we didn't eat on site.
I want to say a big thank you to Libby! She was very helpful while I did my wine tasting of 6 wines and was very fun, knowledgeable and engaging in conversation. I liked all of the wines and had a hard time choosing my favorite, but these were my top 3: Bonfire (red) Vinland (white) and Rose Semi-Sparkling. It was a gorgeous day out so we sat outside (after my tasting inside) and enjoyed glasses of wine and beer. It was lovely and I bought 2 bottles to bring home. All of the staff were extremely great- highly recommend!
