Whether bike, run or walk-about about Cedar Lake, Lake Harriet...Always a pleasant trip. And although the lakes are connected by a paved path, no reason to do all three in a day. Well worth taking your time. Walking around Lake Harriet is literally a walk...More

The Chain of Lakes in Minneapolis is fabulous. You can walk, run or bike on paths all around several lakes that are connected. The city of Minneapolis had the great foresight to not allow homes to be built on the shoreline. That meant that public...More

There's something around the chain of Lakes for everyone! Lots of paths for walking, biking, or running as well as several great views and places for picnics. Worth the time if the weather is nice enough and probably beautiful year round!

City of Lakes visits demands a look, or walk around, one or more of the Chain of Lakes. Perfect paved trails and terrific city 'selfie' spots one each of the lakes. Come see what Minneapolis is all about when you live here.

Was jogging the lakes during a recent warm day and ran into a number of people doing the exact same thing. Decided to get a bite and a beer nearby. Great spot in the summer to tour the lakes by foot, bike, or canoe rental

Love walking the trails. I am someone who easily gets lost. I love that I can just walk and enjoy the beautiful views knowing the trail will automatically bring me back to my starting point.

There are so many ways to enjoy the lakes -- people watching, eating a fish taco, sailing, canoeing, biking, ice skating, swimming, fishing, just lying under a tree. There's a reason Minneapolis is called the City of Lakes, and it's not because the lakes are...More

No, not in the city parks. However, there are trails in some 3 Rivers parks and many county and state parks, as well. Check it out at ExploreMinnesota website.
