Walmer Castle is a delight. Parking excellent and food offering good. It even retained the interest of our 12yr old grandson. However would say it is better suited to those who want to meander and read all the information. We the visited the beach opposite...More

Shingle beach shelves at high tide, levels out at low tide. fairly strong current runs along the beach depending on the tide, range of cafes on the Strand and the lifeboat house to visit. Good for beach fishing

Quiet and empty. Great time looking for stones in the shingle. My daughter found some lovely ones. Probably not the best beach for swimming though, more better for a brisk constitutional.

Grab a brew from the kiosk and sit yourself down and do the nation's favourite.... Stone balancing. The record is 7. Constant laughter of children throwing stones into the sea.

This goes very nice with the castle and the gardens, i.e visit all in one go. Very clean, sandy and lovely view. Not ruined by young naughty couples, genuine people walking across, very polite and a enjoyable and pleasant experience.
