“unwelcoming, terrible beer and rude locals”
A traditional pub with a great seaside view. Friendly atmosphere with live music Fridays from 9pm, free jukebox Saturdays from 6pm. All occasions catered for. Dogs welcome

Visited several times over a couple of years and have received a friendly welcome on each visit from both regulars and staff. As a bonus, there is a sunny garden area at rear and the toilets are always clean.

The best pint of Guinness I've had since arriving back in the UK. A really warm welcome in this traditional seaside pub made our walk along the beach well worth the effort. Although we didn't eat there is an extensive menu of traditional pub food.

We found a great atmosphere with welcoming staff. The food was good and the beer well kept-what more could you want? Oh yes, the view! From the front of the pub you look directly to the sea.All in all a good place to be. Steve N.

Having lived in Deal some years ago, I was looking forward to visiting my old stomping ground. Unfortunately The Stag was a real disappointment. The locals were very cliquey and the music was intrusively loud (and bad)!!

Very clean and well kept pub, right on the sea front with beautiful views. Didn't try the food. Just a couple of drinks and a game of pool in a pleasant pub with very friendly staff.

Despite having 'changed hands' several times in recent years the Stag has had little in the way of refurbishment or improvements. Still a little on the 'dingy' side with only average service. The 'regulars' tend to hog the bar space and make one feel a...More

We popped in for a drink during a walk. Good choice. It reminded us of a village pub. Friendly welcome and lots of characters who all seemed to know each other, but they made us welcome. Happened to arrive a "Happy Hour" when not only...More
