Nearly 20 kms from Kumbakonam and need to travel thro narrow road from Kumbakonam to mannarkudi. A divine place and a special place for Lord dakshinamurthy. One of the navagraha temple. Guru, the Jupiter god worshipped as Dakshina Moorthy many people visit this popular temple during Jupiter transit Temple opens from 8 a.m to 1 p.m evening 5 to 9 p.m you can light the ghee lamps and go around 21 times with your prayers

Nice temple has to be visited on Thursday. Quite and can be spent a half day. There are no restaurants so we have to travel till Kumbakonam for breakfast or lunch but there are few coffee shops.

Worshipped A/m Vinayagar,Yelavarkulazhi Abathsagayeswarar, Murugan and Lord Guru on the auspicious day of Masimagam. Very much pleased to see the Gods on sandal paste covering. The 'Guru' temple was decorated with serials. Car parking also available

Sri dakshinamurthi is very famous here , lord Shiva temple is ancient and hallowed . It's part of nava graha temples . It represents Guru .

As the place is a rural area, I am not sure about the amenities. But the place is at about a distance of around 16 k.ms. only from Kumbakonam enroute Mannargudi, you could have better facilities at Kumbakonam.

Temple are crowded during guru peyarchi transit days and also on thursdays. Other days are less crowded. There is special entrance ticket cost rs100 if you want fast access to darshan.
