This museum is way more amazing than you'd guess from its historic exterior that you'd blink and pass by. Inside, there are interactive exhibits for kids as well as a HUGE lower level of model trains where kids can push the buttons to activate them....More

This is the place for kids. Best train exhibits anywhere in New England, plus numerous local and intelligent presentations of North Shore history. Small and intimate and easily approachable. Spend two hours and enjoy

We went today to check out the annual Lego train exhibit. The Legos were fantastic, but so were the rest of the trains. For a small community museum this place is pretty impressive. The model train room on the lower level can occupy a lot...More

I tell everyone with young children that this is the perfectly sized museum to visit. The trains are awesome, but there is also the play room that has puppets, and the balls that roll down the maze you make. Great gift shop too!

We visited with a toddler boy to see their special exhibit "Train Time," which runs from November through February, and the permanent train gallery which has 21 trains in layouts. "Train Time" is, apparently, an annual display. The child enjoyed the trains greatly. Each display...More

We used this museum as a pit stop on the way to Boston to give our kids some time to move around. It is quaint and play-based. Very much a throw-back in a good way. Staff was friendly and they had a great gift shop.

I enjoy this museum. It is great if you are interested in local or colonial history. The doll and toy exhibit is interesting for adults and children alike. The overall atmosphere is quaint and charming.
