Be sure to explore this museum when you visit Scituate, MA! It is a smaller museum filled with displays and information on: Minot's Lighthouse, local moss harvesting, local shipwrecks and the early beginnings of the Coast Guard.

The Maritime and Mossing Museum is a hidden treasure in Scituate. It is a great visit on a cloudy or rainy day. Lots of very interesting materials and usually a great representative of the Scituate Heritage Society to explain all the great displays.

This Museum located next to the Pier is worth a visit for viewing the maritime creatures particularly Whales & Dolphins and even Sea Birds. This museum can be visited while one waits for the boat to take the trip to The Stellwagen Bank Marine Sanctuary.

Lovely exhibits - nice to learn about town - especially the Irish mossing. The town's history is all about the sea told very well in this charming small museum.

This museum is fascinating for the amount of local history on display. Mossing, shipbuilding, shipwrecks are only a few of the display this gem holds.
