Halibut Point State Park is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the Rockport/Gloucester area. This is the second time we’ve been there and we find the park to be very peaceful and relaxing. It offers great views of the ocean and it’s pretty easy...More

Nice enough but watch out for the biting flies. Paying $10 to park is excessive however. Are the authorities trying to kill the tourism industry in this state?

I had heard Halibut Point State Park had a fantastic walking trail so we paid ten dollars to park our out-of-state car in the park's lot and found a brochure at the start of park's trail and set off! We paused at the suggested stopping...More

It's one of few spots to see sunset around this area. And the view along the sea is fantastic. It also provides a short walking trail around a lake left from previous granite quarry. I would recommend this place especially on days with good weather.

Enjoyed a walk here with a friend on a cold and dreary day in March. Despite the weather conditions, this state park is fun to explore and a wonderful place to spend an hour or two just enjoying nature.

The main track around the quarry only takes like 20 minutes. There are small paths that lead to the coastline, which I would recommend since you've made the trip here. Overall this park is really nothing special, a bit of coastline and a regular quarry....More

State park...Great walk around the quarry with ocean view. walking tour map shows granite quarry history... museum is being renovated. Walking path wide and smooth for even a wheel chair or elderly. Well maintained... no swimming in the quarry but ocean swimming is allowed

We visited this park on June 9, 2018. You do have to pay to park but there was no entrance fee. We ate lunch at one of the picnic tables next to the parking lot. We walked the trails around the rock quarry and made...More

The $5 in state entry fee is well worth it. Halibut is not a large park but offers a big bang! The quarry is amazing! And the walk down to the waterfront is not too challenging. You have the ability to sit on the rocks...More

I use GPS or Google maps. As mentioned by another, parking is limited due to very small lot. Best go on a week day and even better in the off season!

Yes, the main trail around the quarry is quite smooth, so most larger jogging strollers (Jeep or Bob-types) would work fine. A smaller umbrella stroller wouldn't work so well. There are smaller side trails and trails that... More
