A little bit of a hike to reach this jewel in Maryland but the reward is beyond what I can write. We were there when there was a good flow over the falls and made for some great pictures. We enjoyed the gift shop there...More

Was a chilly wet 34 degree Saturday morning yet the 5 hour drive was worth it. There are ways to get to the falls for people with disabilities or challenges. It's quiet and peaceful and the people on the trail are friendly. Took me about...More

Trail markings a little wanting but the persistent hiker will be rewarded with peaceful vistas along the water and at the falls. Don’t leave until you come upon the Muddy Creek Falls, tallest in Maryland.

This is great place to see the outdoors. It’s an easy hike, has amazingly beautiful scenery. The waterfalls are amazing. The rock structures, are cool to check out as well.

Great trail, not to long 1 mile and 1/4 hike. Awesome beatiful waterfalls, make sure to bring your camera or go pro. Bring water to drink. Kid and dog friendly.

We drove over two hours one way just to walk the trails and see the falls, and we weren't the least bit disappointed. The very wet summer and recent rains meant the water levels were higher than what we've seen in the past, though I...More

We have visited the park in winter, summer, and fall. The big falls, Muddy Branch Falls is so much more impressive than its name. In the summer my family has swum in Swallow Falls - in the falls themselves. Don’t forget to see the hidden...More

Just the smell of this place makes me happy - the smell of the pine/hemlock trees while hiking is awesome. We used to come when I was a kid and now 30+ years later we finally made it back with my 11 year old son...More

This past weekend (Sept 29-30) was my second visit to Swallow Falls State Park. My first visit was a winter visit a couple of years ago with about a foot of snow on the ground and sub-zero temperatures. Both visits were spectacular. The hike along...More

Great place to visit, we like to camp here with several falls and nice hiking trails. The trails are well marked and well maintained. In the top 5 of places I like to visit each year.

Some of the trails are stroller accessible and would allow you to see the largest falls. The trails to the smaller falls are not stroller friendly. Hope this helps.

If you take the path the left from the parking lot, it will very shortly take you to the top of Muddy Creek Falls (that's the big one). However, to actually get a good look at the falls, you'll have to go down a rather long... More
