Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came with a 2 year old for my birthday 🎂 and for the child to have a beach experience. This beach charges 25.00 a person. My son came after we ate dinner from Fredrick and we all walked after a rain on the boardwalk. We were there maybe a half hour when a man yelled someone Toyota is getting towed. We did not think it could be one of us no one was in a place to be towed it was a basically empty parking lot. But this don't waste your time beach towed his car. 250.00. This town does not want tourists and it shows they just want to rip you off.

This town has potential to bring in a lot of tourism business if built in a friendly way but it’s a huge miss. 2 adults and 3 kids would cost us $80 to use a tiny public beach with dirty water. We packed up and left after walking the board walk…but had they let us use the beach for free (or even a modest price) then we would have stayed all day, bought lunch, dinner and snacks from local businesses.

Absolutely ridiculous, 0 stars if I could. Drove completely out of our way to get here. One tiny, not so great beach. Free parking, but........$25.00 per adult and $10.00 per child!

Cute town, but with a very tiny beach. Nice enough to just sit and enjoy the sounds of the water on the bay, and get a little sun. Lots of benches on the boardwalk for sitting, and nice boardwalk for strolling. Sems like a retirement comunity.

if you want a good beach day, North Beach is NOT the place. it is very small and almost seems like it’s strictly for the residents of North Beach. Otherwise, look forward to paying $15+ per adult to lay on a TINY beach and have kids kick sand into your eyes while you lay out. On top of already paying for parking. The rules are very strict, “no this, no that…” and the teenagers running the show ensure that everyone PAYS to be on the beach via a wristband you have to get at the front of the pier. the other guests at the beach almost seem as if they are judging you for not having a resident wrist band.
not a fun place to enjoy the beach. more like a playground for 2-5 year olds.

Booked this as an opportunity to cross off another state on our list and also stay close to the beach. The rental we booked was only a block away and gave us complimentary beach passes. Be aware that if you aren't from the county, they will charge you $25 per person per day. There is a nice pier to walk out on and there is a lower deck for fishing. The beach has a small playground on the sand. It was decently clean but we found a few pieces of trash. Unfortunately it was jellyfish mating season and there were hundreds of jellyfish near the shore and in the water so we didn't really go in.

Thumbs down for North Beach! Obviously run by a bunch of curmudgeons filled with signs of “no this, no that”…. Basically we hate tourists so keep on driving!
It was raining one day and the beach was closed including the public bathrooms (no bathrooms available anywhere in town - all telling people to use the public ones on the boardwalk). Nothing to do otherwise in town. The railroad museum was shut, the museum in North Beach’s hours were 8-12. Booooooooored….
We did get to the beach the day we left for a couple hours. People were nice but it was covered in jellyfish.
We definitely won’t be back. They don’t like tourists and wanted everyone to know!

The title says it all. Chicken heads routinely (we asked several employees--it was no surprise) wash up on the beach. Apparently they are used as bait in crab traps and sometimes slip out. Disgusting. I can't believe we paid to get in.

I came to this beach about two years ago... it was actually my first time ! after all the only beaches me and my family would really go to is sandy point or ocean city! we wanted to try something a littel bit different this time... the drive was about 1 hour and 45 mintues! it is a tiny beach but if your looking for a getaway from your kids or your dogs/cats this is the perfect destination for ya ! they have blue crabs, baby sea turtles , and also this is a free dive ocean ! so your swimming at ur own risk in the deep blue lol be careful! the sand in the ocean is very deep! you can almsot feel your feet being captured into majical sand dust! parking is very expensive for non -calvert residents ! anywas if you were looking for something fun to do during the pandemic this is an option have fun and saty safe - rashida strober

North Beach (the twin beaches) is close enough for a weekend getway but feels like you're a thousand miles away. Actually, I hope it doesn't get too popular, or it will change and commercialize like every other seaside town.
A must-do in North Beach is to stop by Artworks @ 7th, 8905 Chesapeake Ave. It's a gallery/shop where you can spend an hour-plus enjoying many varieties of original art and jewelry. Whether you prefer realism, abstract, traditional, technical, tactile, large or small, there is a massive variety of subject-matter and techniques by many local artists. The artists work in the gallery, so if you have questions, you can ask the person at the desk and they can tell you anything about what's there. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to meet your new favorite artist (Nico Gozal!). There are price points for every budget. Even if you don't want to buy, you'll be glad you spent time looking at some beautiful art.

I would like to know what kind of greedy money hungry person decided they would charge 17 dollars a person to swim at the tiny and muddy "beach"? Stupidest thing I have ever heard of. Will not be coming back here again.

I agree 100%. What a great way to drive people away from your area! We just walked the boardwalk and enjoyed the shops, etc.

There is parking along the boardwalk. There is also a parking lot and plenty of street parking.
Is your beach have jellyfish now ?
if so I heard there are different places where you can swim in the bay where they do not have jellyfish in July and August. Could you tell me where they are?

Here's a good article about July jellyfish in Chesapeake Living (just google it); also a NOAA website and map that tells you where they are the worst. Don't know about North Beach, but the public beaches in Anne Arundel County (Downs Beach and Fort Smallwood) have jellyfish nets to keep them out of the swimming areas.
