AllTrails rates this as moderate. For everyday hikers, it may very well be, but for those who only hike occasionally or have balance or height issues, use your due diligence. We nearly went down this path but luckily another couple around our age (mid-40's) was...More

Rocky trail to top where you will find a decommissioned fire tower, not open. Fantastic westerly views.

The views at the top of Beech Mtn are awesome, especially of Long Pond and Echo Lake beach. And, this trail is not as busy as others in the park.

We stumbled on this trail from the other direction and didn’t actually do the ladders.( I wish we had!). You can access the trail from the parking lot on other side and reach the beautiful views without using the ladders-which might be good for those...More

Fun hike with 4 ladders to climb before reaching the summit. It’s a short 1.8 mile hike but it is steep with a small section of rocks to climb over just before the overlook area.

From Portland, OR and this hike rivaled the best that the Columbia River Gorge has to offer. Definitely worth it!
