Our first visit here was in March with high winds and sub zero temperatures. It came highly recommended and was worth the trek through the snow. We were anxious to return this summer when the hut was open for full viewing. Spectacular place with great...More

This is a good place for an easy hike with the family. The preserve is just off of Rt 1 in Rockport and in the spring when the wildflowers are blooming it's just beautiful. There's a parking lot big enough for cars but I wouldn't...More

The trail is fairly easy, but you can't see much until you get to the top. The veiws from there are fabulous and make the hike worth while. Bring bug spray.

Took the short hike up to the Beechnut House. Sod roof, solitary building on the top of a hill overlooking the Penobscott Bay. Nice breezy day. Free activity.

My wife and I hiked this reserve on 9/12/17. I have Parkinson's but using walking sticks I was able to slowly make this hike. The initial path is rugged but then you get to the "road" and head uphill (1-6% grade) for .6 miles to...More

Love this spot. A great place for a walk, a picnic, a dog walk. The view from the stone house is fabulous, there is always a cool breeze, and in the winter, the stars on display make it seem magic!
