We timed our trip pretty well, awesome colors, views etc. So much to do we went 3 times and still didn't get to the whole park even driving it. It is primitive place, narrow dirt roads, no running water... Did a couple nice hikes. One...More

Entrance fee per car. Sign in at gate for safety. Lots of hiking trails - short and longer. Trail to Falls we started out on but realized we were not dressed properly to continue so headed back. Trail had lots of planks across the mushy...More

The part is beautiful. Lots of lakes and woods. I was here in mid-October. It was a little cold but there were very few other people. Really an enjoyable time to go. The camping places were all closed however.

Went into park from Millinocket and hiked the falls at Daicy Pond... Awesome hike which the average person can do... two wonderful waterfalls to see.

Absolutely. As a woman I've camped there several times alone and summited the top alone. I enjoy hiking alone as I can go at my own speed and stop and enjoy nature at my leisure. Plan ahead and order a map from the website... More

Baxter is an awesome driving park!! The roads are not paved, but very well maintained... as you drive and sightsee, you get the feeling of being in the wilderness.... not many places where you can get that experience... More
