We really enjoyed this family hike. It is mostly through the woods but had some great views of the water. We did the blue trail and then the orange trail and it was about 3.5 Miles all together. It is a little tricky to find...More

A bit of a long hike to get to the swimming spot. That's okay but the ticks are everywhere. This is going to be the story of most of Maine this summer, I'm afraid. So nice to see a large tract of land like this...More

It was too wet for us to hike due to heavy rain the night before. However, the scenery is eclectic and pretty and we saw a number of animals, including a very bold deer.

This walk have is 4 miles of mild up's and downs. This was exactly what we were looking for. There were some interesting sights; a lake and a balancing rock, and lots of ferns on a nice, well-marked path.

What a wonderful preservation effort. This moderate 1to 1 1/2 hour hike thru pine forest, around ledges, boulders on well worn trails gives beautiful vistas of Lake Megunticook. The road to the parking area wends its way thru fields and back yards as well as...More

Hikes/walks are well laid out, well marked and offer stunning scenery in a wide variety of forest, meadow and lakeside settings. Nothing difficult here. CMLT, who manages this facility, always does an outstanding job at all their preserves.

Follow the brown and white hiking figures sign to the Preserve's parking area. The trails are very clearly blazed. Trail running was difficult for this 60-something, but I found the walking good exercise. Lots of roots and small rocks were easy to negotiate at a...More

Not clearly marked, no signs but worth the time to find it. A really nice hike through the beautiful woods and then around Megunticook Lake. We took the blue route and then picked up the orange route - maybe 4 miles. Start to the right...More
