Needed to kill a few hours in the bad weather. Hinze dam was recommended as a free morning/afternoon out. Didn't fail to disappoint, was a nice walk along the top as the sun came out. Had a picnic in the bottom car park watching the...More

I'd say it's a nice side trip before or after visiting Springbrook National Park. The cafe has quite nice cakes and good outdoor covered dining areas. The view there is fantastic too.

Half hour drive from Gold Coast, signage easy to follow. Veiw cafe does breakfast and lunch, reasonably priced. Take your bike or scooter as you can rid across dam. Good for kids. Picnic facilities.

The best views of Hinze dam can be taken from the visitor centre. The pristine blue lake, clear sky and multi-hued mountain scenery create postcard like pictures. Come on a sunny day to enjoy the views and have lunch out there as they also have...More
