Great short bike path next to an old railroad between Gardiner and Augusta. It is paved and well taken care of. For bikers it is a bit short- but great for walking, jogging, scooting, roller skating, and teaching kids to bike.

Wife and I brought the bikes up all the way from Florida for this trip because we wanted to continue to exercise on vacation. We did the Kennebec Rail Trail yesterday and today and loved the ride and the views of the river. It's a...More

This is a great walk. Go from Gardiner to Augusta along the river. Lots of places that you can see the river. Trail mile markers, flat and paved. Places to sit and lots of places to enter the trail.

We parked near the city capital building (near the YWCA) and caught the trail down to the water. It has chain link fence on the river side, and some old buildings on the left-- still it was a nice run towards Hallowell where there is...More

This is a great trail. However, there have been some sketchy incidences and using the trail should be done with caution. I would not use the trail at night. I would go in a group or at least with a partner. There are no public...More

"If you build it, they will come!" The famous line from the movie "Field of Dreams" says it all. This trail is such a great addition to the Augusta area. The trail starts in Augusta and goes clear to Gardiner. It follows the Kennebec River...More

Great paved trail connecting Gardiner to Augusta. Perfect for walkers, runners and bikes. It can get very busy on warm days so come early. Beauty view of river for most of the way. Most of trail is traffic. A gem for people of Gardner and...More

This trial is hot topped and a beautiful walk along the river. You can stop in Hallowell for lunch or a drink. You can walk to Gardiner and back or you can park a car at both ends. Enjoy your time outside.

This is a wonderful place to walk your dog, ride a bike, jog or rollerblade. It's paved and level, and follows the Kennebec River from Gardiner, north through Farmingdale and Hallowell, to Augusta.

The trail is paved, wide and level and if you peek between the trees you can glimpse the river, but it sure is boring to walk. Might be more fun on a bike.

Not that I saw, but wasn't looking, would be a great idea for someone to start up a business.
