Nicely maintained lighthouse on private property. Limited on-street parking. There is a sign notifying everyone that it is private property. From the sign, you walk along the edge of the backyard to get to the "path". It is unmarked except for a small handwritten sign...More

A great place to go exploring, be careful of the very step steps leading down to the rocks, I would not recommend young children or old/frail people do the steps as they are very step and slippery. The lighthouse is very pretty. It’s a great...More

We were touring the coastal towns of Maine and were interested in seeing some of the lighthouses along the way. It happened to be pouring rain the day we visited Castine but we drove down to the tip of the peninsula to get a look...More

We've read The Fort by Bernard Cornwell several times so this was a must see. Quite steep--which we knew from the accounts--and amazing view at the base.
