My daughters surprised me with a train ride for Mother’s Day. What a lovely afternoon spent riding the train through unspoiled country landscape!

We thoroughly enjoyed rumbling up the track and back. Beautiful woods, fields filled with wild flowers, and tressels over brooks. A great way to spend an hour or so.

Train is from the 1940s and feels like it. The ambiance of the closed cart was absolutely beautiful if you appreciate things like this. The conductor and engineer were fantastic as they were very friendly and talkative before the ride. They all volunteer and that's...More

I sincerely appreciate the volunteer work to maintain the heritage of this strip of railway. Has a unique character given the age of the car. However, I was not expecting the train to go down the track for 30 mins and then go backwards to...More

Thank you. Our volunteers work VERY hard and long hours to keep the railroad alive. We appreciate when people enjoy the experience.

I have been riding the B&ML every summer since the early 1980s when the road was still a full service short line railroad then owned by the city. It's 33 mile grade opened in the 1870 and while the first three miles from the Belfast...More
