Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I can’t rate the team at DiveZoneBOI highly enough.

Led by Ben, we had an awesome day of diving with all the stories to add the icing to a perfect day. Nothing was too much trouble and divers from novice to experienced were well catered for on the same trip.

I’d highly recommend any diver to come and experience what the BOI has to offer. The fish life is intense and has to be experienced.

Thanks, we will be back.

DivezoneBOI is the shop to go diving with!! We went out with a mix of beginner and advanced divers within our group. Daryl and the team made it engaging for everyone with their wealth of knowledge of the dive sites and diving we all had an awesome day. The diving they took us to was incredible also and they made it feel like you were diving with friends you'd known for years. So thank you to Daryl and the team for an EPIC day!!!

I took my PADI Advanced open water certificate with the team at Dive Zone in Waipapa as I was travelling around the world on a recent trip. They were very helpful through the booking process, which I was obviously doing from a distance, and were clear throughout as to when a course I could take would be and how best to both book and get to the dive shop.

Kelly was my instructor for this course, which I took along with 2 other divers at the start of December. He was calm and authoritative whilst being very good company for what turned out to be relatively long days, since the dive sites in the Bay of Islands took a little travelling to get to. Safety is paramount when diving and I never felt in any danger with Kelly leading the dives, whilst he also pushed us on towards completing the needs of the course and providing good advice out of the water on areas we could improve.

The first day was the more technical aspects of the course. For those who are already qualified, what we did on day 2 is probably of more interest - diving on the wreck of the HMS Canterbury and the area around it, which has been designated a no fishing zone and consequently has an abundance of fish. The wreck itself is still in good condition, sitting upright on its hull, having been sunk in a relatively protected part of the bay and Kelly was able to give a good history of what had been done to put the ship in the area. Now that it has been down there a while, it's starting to get colourful coral growth and some small, safe, penetration of the wreck is possible for guided, advanced, divers. Wreck specialists may be able to do more technical penetration of the wreck - but this was beyond the cope of both the course and, consequently, my skills.

Dive Zone were brilliant to travel and dive with for a couple of days. If you fancy a dive in the BOI area, I would recommend them highly. Bear in mind the potential for the sea to be cold. DZ will help you hire equipment to keep you warm and I didn't have any problems, but in late November, the sea may be too cold for some!

What a treat today was. We went diving with divezone bay of islands and it was lovely! For first time divers, Darryl is definitely the guy to take a plunge with.
You get your moneys worth as well! Two dives in one afternoon!

This was my daughter and I's very first open water dive since training in North America. And let me tell you... It was sweet as!

Laura was an amazing instructor and the crew at Dive Zone were very accommodating considering we had only a few days in Waipapa. We saw some amazing wildlife, including colourful sea slugs and an eagle ray, and even got to cruise through a little underwater 'canyon'. Heaps of fun! An awesome way to spend the day with family and a fabulous dive master! And all at a great price... (especially compared to back home :)

We spent a fabulous morning with Darryl, one of the Dive Zone instructors, who took us on our very first dive. He was absolutely brilliant, letting us set the pace. He explained everything carefully first on dry land, then bit by bit as we went into the water. I felt in very safe hands. It was a fabulous introduction to diving. Yes- we got to see the sea floor and the aquatic life under the ocean's surface. I would recommend it, as it was a great experience. Thank you Darryl for your patience! I am glad I persevered. We are hoping to go again, and would use Dive Zone.
