Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A well perserved log cabin. The lady who gives information is very knowledgeable about the cabin and its history. However she tends to forget and tells the same stories over and over again until you finally have to politely excuse yourself. She just seems to enjoy talking.

After passing the William Arnold Log House several times when in the area, we stopped when we saw an 'open' sign. The ladies there provided a brief summary of William Arnold's role in the area's history.

We stumbled upon this gem while on a local area photography day trip! We also had the fortune of showing up just as a historical society member was visiting the site. She gave us access, free reign to explore, and the time to take as many photos as we wished.
The cabin was 216 years old at the time of our visit last week, and is amazing. There are two floors, each of which with fireplace, hearth and furnishings, including a book collection, from the period!
From the pamphlet we were given, the hours of operation are as follows:
Fridays, 11am-4pm, or
by appointment by calling 859-824-9202 or e-mailing bb15chips@aol.com

Do not use Google maps to get here from the Ark! After we snaked thru miles of roads warning if possible washouts, we got to the cabin. There are new hours posted, 10am to 2pm and 6pm to 8pm. We are here at 4pm. If you are going to advertise on the internet, keep your hours updated! What a disappointment!

We stayed nearby to see the Ark Encounter and noticed that the house was open until 5pm (we were there at 4pm on a Wednesday) so we stopped in. No entrance fee, just donations, and the woman there was great- very knowledgable, clearly a local and a history buff. Loved that our teens could see up close what life was like "back in the day" and she even allowed them to look through the old stereoscope on the shelf. If you're passing by and it's open, you really can't go wrong by stopping in and you're sure to learn something new!

We stopped by this little place after leaving the Ark Exhibit. No admission charge. The lady who was working there was very friendly and informative.

They accept donations otherwise it’s free. It only takes a few minutes to walk through. It’s a really neat old house that shares Williamstown history. My dad was only able to view the lower floor because he can’t do stairs very well. My husband, mom, and I went upstairs. It tells a story through the things on display. I loved it.
I did recommend to the lady working the Wednesday afternoon we happened upon it that she should have the hours updated on here. We were walking around town and noticed it was open.

I never thought of the houses in a fort were attached to the wall of the fort. This was interesting to see how they lived. The guy that was in the house with the furs shot or trapped all of the animals in there. He was so interesting to talk to.

We never got to see it from the inside as it was closed. There was no signage indicating it was open. It also sits between two banks, one of which is specifically marked 'customer parking only,' while the other is assumed, so one doesn't really know where you're supposed to park, either. We stopped at the county tourism office and the lady there wasn't even sure when it was open. :-/
