Read the history of the wharf (pier to Brits) before walking the 600+ metres to the end where you will find determined fishermen with tales to tell. The wharf has had some restoration, but there is still much to do. Even if you find the...More

Very historic and beautiful region of New Zealand. Well worth the walk out to the end of the pier and then take photos back towards the shore. Good break if one is driving.

We took a walk along the wharf this morning-it's long! Lots of info at the start and some great cliffs along side it. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

If the weather is good it is worth the effort to walk the length of the wharf and experience the history of shipping in the East Coast.

This is quite a wharf. The area was busy in its hay day and you can just imagine how busy this wharf was many years ago

The history of the wharf was really interesting & it was great to be able to walk the length of the bridge in this stunning bay. It is over 600m long. Many people fish from the end.
