Such an amazing walk with amazing views. For unfit folk, it’s still doable but just takes longer. Would recommend.

We were in Gisborne for the weekend and decided to drive the 45 minutes up the coast to do the Cooks Cove Walkway. We were glad we did, as even on a cloudy and overcast day, the views were beautiful. It's around a 4 mile...More

Be prepared for a walk Not a stroll and a location the merits the effort to get there. The view from the resting area looking down into the Bay are worth experiencing if you do not have the time to drop down to the Cove

A nice walk with awesome views around Tolaga Bay and Cooks Cove. Well worth the trip to view some early history of NZ.

I highly recommend this walk! It is simply gorgeous! It’s the perfect walk! Some green hills with sheeps everywhere, some bush walk, amazing views of the coastline, the Hole in the Wall is amazing and it’s not too long, not too short, the perfect duration.

The walk to Cooks Cove is advertised as being child-friendly but there were sections of the walk where even I battled. The walk is pretty steep at times and I would imagine that the 5.8km walk plus lots of stairs would exhaust a small child...More
