Our visit was on a perfect, sunny and calm Winter's day. Even so there were some patches on mud and slippery areas. Good walking shoes or boots recommended. For those whose fitness is not quite what they would like, there are opportunities to stop and...More

Such an amazing walk with amazing views. For unfit folk, it’s still doable but just takes longer. Would recommend.

Be prepared for a walk Not a stroll and a location the merits the effort to get there. The view from the resting area looking down into the Bay are worth experiencing if you do not have the time to drop down to the Cove

A nice walk with awesome views around Tolaga Bay and Cooks Cove. Well worth the trip to view some early history of NZ.

I highly recommend this walk! It is simply gorgeous! It’s the perfect walk! Some green hills with sheeps everywhere, some bush walk, amazing views of the coastline, the Hole in the Wall is amazing and it’s not too long, not too short, the perfect duration.

We stopped here at the Tolega Bay Holiday Park for two nights. This included a walk to Opoutama (Cooks Cove) about 5.8km return. It wasn't Cooks first landing but was one of the more successful judging by local memories. The track was a mixture of...More
