This ride was hard in that it was 40km on the first day and 42km on the second. Don't under estimate the base fitness you'll need. Good climbs, fast down hills and nothing too technical. We loved every minute.

A couple and three young girls, youngest 3 and grandparents. Walked from car park to the swing bridge (2.9km). A lovely taste of NZ's beautiful bush. Track starts closed in surrounded by a good range of trees and bush. Later the track is quite wide....More

This swing bridge is a short walk from the car park and part of the timber trail. .50 meters above the valley floor , just for walkers and cyclists .An excellent addition to the walking and cycling tracks that surround Lake Taupo

This is a great trail. Scenic in views and best DONE in a group. Make sure you get a bit of cycling training done beforehand so you will enjoy it more as you will appreciate after day 1 your bum will be a bit sore. Just take... More
