It happened to be Sunday at noon and you can only imagine how busy that place was first week in September. Crowded would be an understatement. Lots of people from the city looking for a retreat or going to the adjacent church. Finding parking was also an adventure. I paid, they let me in but no spots, had to wait around dodging other cars doing the same on a narrow alley. Most Romanian drivers are very impatient to say the least, they don't master the concept of waiting in line or get the dynamics of first come first served, they always jump lines, whether is a line in front of a store, airport or a parking lot. Park away from the lot and walk.
I had to wait a long time to take a few decent pictures. Oh well..
The building and the surroundings are nice but the garden and the landscape and the grounds can use little work. The lake as well... lots of weeds and garbage. The woods/park around and picnic area busy too, not a good day for me relaxing I guess.
like I said, ok but nothing out of this world. I was expecting much better.

It is my third time i am coming to this historical monument of Architecture and its beautiful surroundings and lake. Visiting the Palace in spring time is making the experience even more beautiful as the trees in blossom, the perfumed flowers and the green trees and peaceful harmony gives you the serenity your might be looking for after a full stressful week in the capital of Romania. The palace is not hard to find, it is 10 min drive from Bucharest, in Ilfov County as exiting the city from the East side on the way to Targoviste City. At one time, as shown, you will have to turn left and at the end of the street you will find this beautiful landmark of nature and the Mogosoaia Palace. Mogosoaia comes from the Mogos, naming the woman of Mogos, one of the rich family of the 15 th century that owned the land. The Palace was buit in the Romanian Renaissance style called Brancovenesc.
The Palace is surrounded by park, forest and lake and you are even allowed to spend your time on the property free no matter what activity you would like to have.
Taking pictures, having a walk, playing badminton or volleyball, you can forget about the crowded city for a day.
I strongly recommend taking some sunscreen and drinks as there are not shops around the palace so if you need to spend some more time here, you need to be sure you have everything with you.

The minibus from Gara de Nord is pretty much impossible to find, completely unsigned and no one, including tourist information, has heard of it. Don't waste your time like we did.
Do NOT try to get tram 20 to Laromet and get bus 460 from there like the other suggestion. Laromet is impossible to find as it is not called that any more. You will really struggle to find it, and apparently you actually need bus 105 to get there now, not the tram.
Basically, get a proper tour. Otherwise you will spend the whole day lost struggling to get there, you will be incredibly stressed and will have a horrible day!!! You might think you are saving a bit of money, but Bucharest is not easy to get around once you are past the central metro area. Worth seeing, but ONLY with an organised tour or you will completely regret it!!! Trust me!

I read about this summer home of 17th century Wallachia ruler Constantin Brancoveanu and asked our guide to drive us out there (10km from city). My initial draw was the statues of Lenin and PM Groza dumped here after the 1989 revolution. I was surprised as to the beauty of this entire area. Although we were here in winter, it was an impressive venue with the snow topped buildings and frozen lake. This is the largest non religious site in Bucharest.

Mogosoaia Palace is an interesting collection of buildings built for Romanian royalty. The furnishings etc. were removed so everything inside was never there. It has since been used as a museum of Romanian artifacts. It is an interesting mix of items. The interior is as interesting containing architectural features like the marble floors, doorways and windows. The grounds are very beautiful if you have time to roam.

Mogosoaia Palace is a wonderful example of Romanian renaissance style – here is called brancovenesc style.
The palace is situated at 10 km from Bucharest, on the shore of the Mogosoaia Lake, and in the middle of a beautiful garden.
Inside the palace is situated a museum and an art gallery – muzeu de arta brancoveneasca,
where I’ve met Romanian medieval art. I’ve attached few very explicit photos.
Near the palace, I’ve visited the small church, where are buried the princes – the former owners of this palace.
If somebody want to combine the relax in the middle of the nature with the love for the art, I recommend him a visit at this beautiful historical site.

This place is around 10-15km away from the city center of Bucharest. In the place, there is the main palace, which has a great view to a lake, plus a church, a watching tower that you can go up to have an overview of the area, and also a huge garden, with area for sports, picnic, bike rides.
It's a great place to spend a day with the family, but there is no food/beverage structure, so take whatever you may need, cause you can't buy anything there.

Out of the trafic jams, noise and smog of Bucharest, at a few km, is located the Mogosoaia Palace. The few parking places were plenty enough, very few tourists being interested in it. Only a few Romanian families coming there for a picnic and a BBQ. I enjoyed the silence and the few people around. Sunny or shady places on a big area with a lake.

The palace is old Romanian style called "Brancovenesc". The palace itself is an interesting museum, and sometimes there are art exhibitions during the weekend. But the charm is visiting the whole domain, the church, the restaurants, the huge park, and there is recreation area for families that includes activities on e lake and one sports area with football and tennis fields. We go there regularly with our kid. One of the greatest places in Bucharest, for sure, and a must visit for any tourist. There is also a paid parking area that is very cheap.
