- Kylie ShaverQueenstown, New Zealand37 contributionsThank you Mt. Rosa!I haven't been to Mt. Rosa Cellar Door since 2020. Absolutely love the new location. The vibes are perfect for summer, with a nice garden looking at the vines in the sun. The new upgrade has brought a whole new homey feel to Mt. Rosa. We came in and we were immediately welcomed by smiling faces. We had Caleb for our winetasting and he was so great. He was interactive, kind, and funny. It honestly made the whole wine tasting experience a blast while still being informative. We truly felt taken care of by Caleb. We will definitely be coming back and recommending others to check out Mt.Rosa. Out of all the wineries we visited today, Mt. Rosa was our favourite. Thanks for the awesome experience! Thanks so much! That's exactly how we want our visitors to feel! We're glad you had a great time and we'll make sure to let Caleb know he did a great job :)Written 2 January 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Travelled with friendsWritten 12 December 2022
- Avery W3 contributionsGreat wine, wonderful atmosphere!Mt Rosa was our last stop on our tour and easily was the best! All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming! Our tasting host was so knowledgeable and attentive. She made us feel comfortable and taught us a lot about Mt Rosa and what makes it so special. We loved the 2018 Pinot noir and the Pinot Blanc! Thanks so much! We're glad you had a great time with us. Thanks for visiting and make sure to stop by again :) We try our best to make everyone feel comfortable and have some fun while tasting wine. :)Written 2 January 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 December 2022

- evets1232016Sydney, Australia364 contributionsMore than just good wineThis was the last stop on a small group wine-tasting tour. The tasting was in a shed set in the stunning mountain scenery of the Gibbston vineyards. The range of wines was typical of the area, pinot noir and several dry whites. All wines tasted were excellent, especially the pinots. But what made our visit special was the wonderful dry humour and knowledge of the hostess who served us. Don't take her on, her wits are quicker than yours! Go for the great wine, but also the scenery and to have some fun. Thanks for the lovely review.Written 1 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2023Written 14 February 2023
- LuvinspoonfulRotorua, New Zealand718 contributionsWell deserved busyBusy, busy, busy and still feeling looked after. The wine tasting includes cheese tasting and the history of these was more interesting than the wines (sorry). Couple of dogs wandering around looking for free pats (love this).Thank you - pleased you felt looked after although we were busy! - Mary ROttawa, Canada2 contributionsLovely way to end the dayA great way to end an afternoon of sightseeing in the Queenstown area. When we arrived the winery was very busy but we were seated in a quieter area so that we could enjoy some conversation and the lovely wines on the tasting menu. They also had a non-alcohol beer on their food menu. We had chosen their cheese plate to go with our wine tasting and that was lovely too. The wines were lovely and we were given a description of each as it was poured and she also explained which cheese would be best suited to accompany it. The winery is in a beautiful area nestled in between mountains. There was seating both inside and outside of the tasting room.Thank you - wine & cheese - what could be better at the end of the day :)Written 1 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2023Written 21 February 2023
- Helen H83 contributionsFabulous wines, beautiful settingWe visited 3 different wineries and had 3 different and enjoyable experiences. However Mt Rosa, was our favourite. We enjoyed the wines especially the Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir and enjoyed a lovely fish platter. We even stayed a little longer to enjoy an extra glass of our favourites. I’m so pleased we visited this friendly, chilled winery. Thanks Helen - we like to keep the experience relaxed. Pinot Blanc is one of my favourites too!Written 1 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 February 2023

- mangetomNewcastle, Australia30 contributionsThe most perfect SundayWe visited after seeing an ad at Dorothy Browns, and so glad we did. We did didn’t have a booking but they kindly managed a table outside, for a perfect Sunday afternoon lunch. We had an exceptional tasting, - knowledgeable, fun and delicious! We bought, and also enjoyed a bottle with our platter. Sitting out on the veranda, beautiful view, food and wine, a memory that will last. On top of that the people were so good, hospitality personified! What could be better on a Sunday afternoon - food, wine and great views! Lots of wineries to choose from,
but loved the intimate feel of Mt Rosa.
Selections of wine to try were fantastic. Yes bought a couple to try during our trip and to take home with us. The food platter was just the right of food and very tasty to boot!
Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and the Owner came over and had a quick chat with us too which was great.
Well worth the visit!

We thought better than the nearby and much more published Cloudy Bay.
Quiet and off the main road, did not need to book. Good food to go with the pleasant wine.

Great visit to Mt Rosa where the winery owner took the time to talk us through each of his wines. Located in Gibbston, a short 30 min drive from Queenstown.
The wines are of excellent quality and well priced.
Well worth a visit.

Knowledgeable staff, chatty and friendly. Great location inside and out with a dining room for about 15 persons. Good options on the menu but we only had the truffle fries as heading out for dinner later.
Believe our host was Ray and he certainly made it interesting. Worth the visit as good wines

We had a wonderful afternoon tasting the beautiful wines and cheeses on offer at Mt Rosa. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable and we were looked after expertly by Bindy. She was a breath of fresh air, very friendly and happy to spend time sharing her knowledge of wines with us. We loved it!

We came to Mount Rosa this afternoon (June 24th) and had Anna from Minnesota as our server. Normally she works the vines but said she works on the weekends in house. She did an amazing job and had such great knowledge of wines! We had a great time. She catered for about 5 other tables at the same time. Amazing job and an asset to your company. Thank you Anna. Also amazing wines and all staff very friendly!
