Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Close up stroking and feeding large stingrays is not an everyday opportunity!
The two leaders demonstrated and gave everyone confidence to touch and feed these amazing creatures.
The stingrays are very sensitive to hearing your heartbeat so providing a“wall” of people allows them to investigate before they feel safe too. The oldest/largest is 34 years we were told. Fascinating to hear about their survival too, as a delicacy for Orca whales that come to the nearby shore around August (in 2023).
A great family, all age experience.

We took our friends from the UK who came to Gisborne for a few days during their trip around the North Island and they had such an amazing experience, loved every minute, and said the guides where excellent in their explanations and leadership skills. Well worth a visit and to see, feed, touch and interact with these beautiful animals of the sea is awesome.

What a fabulous unique experience. I feel privileged to have been there and experience stingray up close and friendly. Perfect weather, beautiful drive out from Gisborne city centre and gorgeous beach. You will be provided with waders and socks if you need them. The guides are great and will help you to stay safe. Don’t miss this experience when you’re in Gisborne or passing through.

We really enjoyed it. We were lucky and our group of 8 had 2 guides plus Jimmy, the founder, and it was amazing. We saw 7 or 8 stingrays. Pet almost everyone and feed one. Recommended. Money well spent!

Fantastic experience. The sting rays are amazing creatures and super friendly. The only not so good thing was that the day was very windy and we couldn't follow the crew explanations and stories clearly from time to time but the crew was fantastic and so attentive with all the participants.
