I tried a fair number of river running trails, and River Torrens is one of the best ones !
You can choose various loop distances, the trails are well marked, the view varies from city landscape to gum forest, drinking fountains along the way.
It stretches some 20 k I am told and follows the Torrens to the sea. Both sides have walk/cycle paths and the scenery changes in nature as you progress along it. Plenty of viewing points, loads of park areas, play areas etc at frequent intervals....More

Walk or cycle at your own pace. Take in the wildlife, mostly birds, but I have seen the odd snake and many lizards along it.
We used this trail to get from the city to the coast, fantastic bike route with plenty to look at on the way. Just make sure you follow the signs as there is some construction work going on but the diversions are easy to follow....More
