I tried a fair number of river running trails, and River Torrens is one of the best ones ! You can choose various loop distances, the trails are well marked, the view varies from city landscape to gum forest, drinking fountains along the way.

It stretches some 20 k I am told and follows the Torrens to the sea. Both sides have walk/cycle paths and the scenery changes in nature as you progress along it. Plenty of viewing points, loads of park areas, play areas etc at frequent intervals....More

We walked to the River from the National Wine Centre. It wasn't our plan and we just followed the road signs to get there. It was so clean, quiet and beautiful. There were people running or cycling. We walked through Angas Gardens and Grundy Gardens....More

This pathway is just one of the most pleasant and relaxing activities in Adelaide. Walk or cycle at your own pace. Take in the wildlife, mostly birds, but I have seen the odd snake and many lizards along it.

Walked from the city towards the foothills and back over a few hours. The best way to describe it is scenic and peaceful. Lots of great photo opportunities with the reflections on the still water of the river. Only downside was the detours because of...More

Great place to cycle through on my commutes. The riverbank is always alive with nature. The banks of the Torrens provide a peaceful escape for the city worker and a great vantage point to capture the changing face of the Adelaide CBD.
