Family night at the pub
Jul 2021 • Couples
Stopped at Tui brewery for meal and drink Friday night. It's like being in a friendly home, with kids and adults cheerfully enjoying a get together. What a shame we live so far away, but just as well we only have to walk to to the campervan to sleep.

Disappointing and rude
May 2021 • Couples
Really disappointed by the service my wife and I received at tui. The brewery tour is a scam, $25 to go for a walk around the site which is inactive, watch a video of all the adds that were once played on tv and a very brief description of how beer use to be made there. The food was less than satisfactory, with soggy pizza base and horribly rude service by the red head who made it very clear that her many years of “experience” made her superior to our expectations that we had.
Very rude and condescending way to end our trip up north from Christchurch.

Fantastic Place to Visit
Apr 2021 • Couples
Dropped in for a quick coffee on our way to Napier and enjoyed the experience so much we stopped for lunch on the way back today. This place has so much to offer, with great food and drink and a fully-stocked shop with a mixture of cool merchandise and some really quirky gifts. The beer garden is just an awesome place to chill out and next time we will certainly be taking the brewery tour. We especially enjoyed the museum and the Living Legends board - there’s some awesome people listed on there with a liberal dash of good old Tui humour. However, what really makes it is the attitude of the staff. Friendly, welcoming and helpful, but all done in a really authentic way. In a society where so much is fake these days, it’s refreshing to meet real people who genuinely care about ensuring the customer’s needs are catered for. There’s a lot of other hospitality venues around New Zealand that could learn a great deal from the Tui Brewery. We are already looking forward to our next visit in a few weeks. Thank you once again!

Top quality trip!
Feb 2021
Very much worth it for the price! We had Taylor for the tour and she sure knows her stuff! She was extremely knowledgeable on the history and the brewing process and was really welcoming and approachable with questions.

The bar and restaurant is also a very nice place to relax on a sunny (or chilly day). We orders chips with our beers and it was perfect with the beers. The experience to try out so many types of brews that isn't available in many other locations is really special.

As part of our experience, we got a personalized beer bottle and discounts on many of our purchases included in our Tui HQ passports. Also the Tui magnetic billboard (that you can edit is also great to take photos with ;)

We went during a weekday and hence it wasn't as busy. Would recommend!

Thank you for your review. We will pass your comments onto Taylor. The Brewery Experience is really worth making the trip to Mangatainoka for. I hope you found a beer that tickled your fancy - the tasting trays are great for this. We hope to see you again soon.

A very nice lunch
Jan 2021 • Couples
We stopped for lunch and were very impressed by the meal. Thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips. Nice fish in a light batter with crispy chips cooked to perfection. Ofcourse we also enjoyed a Tui beer from a wide range of Tui beers most I’d not seen before.
The shop attached to the restaurant has a great range of merchandise.

Don't stop for a beer...
Dec 2020 • Couples
Whether you're passing through or making Mangatainoka's Tui HQ your destination? It's worth stopping for a break and soak the atmosphere. Try some of their fabulous food and great beer. If you like a Summery, citrus, 'Rider' style beer? Have a taste of what's in Tupu's Tap!

Disappointment to the max
Nov 2020 • Friends
3 of us visited today. What a disappointment.
We got to visit the room with the history on place.
Then we went to stand outside locked rooms we could peer through windows at. We then went into a none operational brewery. Had no idea we were going to see a room full of empty vats. Having done a number of brewery tours in various places this was just a way of making money.
20.00 each with 1 200ml glass of beer.
Total tour and beer lasted less than 40 nins.
Total waste of $60.00 for 3 of us.

Sorry to read you had a disappointing time, our brewery is still operating so perhaps you arrived on a day that there were no brews down. We hope you call in again, even if it is to enjoy a meal, a look through our HisTui museum or for a bit of Tui merchandise shopping.

Thanks - we think the cider is pretty good too! The Tuimato sauce is a crowd favourite so stoked that you have discovered it. Call in again.
