BEWARE - Have made multiple attempts via every published phone # this business has published for 2+ months and they started with full mailboxes unable to leave a message - now they are non-working #’s Their website looked like they were taking June bookings & also take your $$ - now looks like reservations might start in July. Comments to FB posts on their page also go unacknowledged. Was attempting to coordinate a mid-June group book for a 2 hour tandem kayaking - BUT how do you not have any way to reach a business with published non-working phone #’s

We booked a 5.5 hours, 15 mile kayaking trip through Fever River Outfitters. They provided vests, kayaks, and paddles, all of which were in good condition. The kayaking was immensely fun and a good length of time. The river had some low level, easy yet fun rapids that added to the excitement, and the river was mostly surrounded by trees, with some areas with plains and livestock roaming around. Our group went around a curve at one point only to come face-to-face with 50 to 100 cows in the river and on both sides of the river. Needless to say, this was the highlight of the kayaking trip. There wasn't much of a current towards the end, so the last 40 min to 1 hour was all paddling. The experience overall was fantastic and I would do this again in a heartbeat. The team at Fever River Outfitters were also all very friendly, especially given our somewhat disorganized and tardy group of 13. Fever River Outfitters was very accommodating and patient with us, which helped make our experience even better.

A must go to place for active people who want to enjoy the area. We stopped by on a Monday morning in July, looking for bikes to ride along the nearby rivers. The guys set us up with bikes and had us off in no time. Since we were not sure how long we wanted to use the bike 2 or more hours they were fine, stating just bring them back when you are done. We ended up riding out to Chestnut Mountain (hill) along the well marked path which is basically flat following the two rivers. We ended up at the ski hill and had lunch which I highly recommend as it is a scenic spot to have a drink or meal. They offer kayaks, and many other rentals.

My husband booked the Buckhill to Galena tour for our anniversary. It was our first time to Galena, so we tried to do a lot in one weekend. Neither of us had been kayaking before and found Fever River Outfitters was a good match since they offer novice tours. From start to finish we were very happy with the service we received. We were transported to our launch area in a van driven by a really laid back guy. When he assisted us into the kayaks, I didn't feel judged for not knowing what to do. The tour itself was both relaxing and exciting, even for us newbies. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. The staff at Fever River is super friendly. I would definitely recommend taking one of their tours, even if you're new to kayaking!

My wife and I spent our anniversary weekend in Galena and rented 2 single kayaks for the Buckhill to Galena trip. Trip took just around 2 hours. Owners(and their dogs) were super friendly. Also very knowledgeable about the river and the trip. Very easy reservation and process. We are already deciding when to make a day trip to go back and do a longer trip with them. Definitely recommend if spending some time in or near galena.
