I did the Little Italy walking tour with my 12 year old son and another friend of ours while visiting Chicago. I really enjoyed the tour. The food was good and I like hearing about all of the history for the area. Phyllis is very...More
Past Friday and Saturday I went on both of these tours. Phyllis with her culinary and restaurant management background provided some wonderful places to sample. their menu items. And even though she was not a Chicago native her research provided lot's of historical information and...More
We took both the Little Italy and Saigon to Stockholm food tours. We enjoyed both and would have a difficult time choosing our favorite. All the food was really good and Phyllis is very personable and knowledgeable. If she adds any more tours, we will...More

Thanks so much for review and feedback! I had a fun couple of days touring Chicago with both of you and do hope we can do it again in the future!
Phylis was well acquainted with the Northeastern neighborhoods, the people, and the food. She was graceous, informative and chose a great selection of stops. Right amount of walking and eating. A lovely afternoon.
This is a good food tour and I would recommend it. The only thing I would caution on is that it's long. 3 1/2 hours, an hour of which could easily be reduced with less standing around listening to historical information. A tour of this...More
Who knew the Swedes were so prominent (at one time) in Chicago? And the Asian foods are unique and delicious. Thanks Phyllis for showing something we might never see or try. You're not eating too exotically. You will recognize the names of the items, just...More

Thanks so much for the review and recommendation! I'm glad you enjoyed the Little Italy tour. And yes, the locals on Taylor Street are great!
I live in the Andersonville area, which is where some of the stops on this tour are. I took the tour years ago with the hope that I would learn more about the area. My Hope's were answered! I took the tour again now to...More

Thanks for your inquiry. The walking is about 1.5 miles. I would say the pace is about what you would walk if you were walking somewhere with friends. Please be aware that the tour does not end at the same place we start. Public transportation is available, but there will be some additional walking involved if you need to get back to the starting point.
I hope this helps!
