London House, as this building is now known, is another 1920s architectural gem within the Loop of Chicago. Although it is now a hotel, one can enjoy the well-preserved art, murals, and brass work at the ground floor entrance. Also of importance is the fact that it is located on the site of the original Fort Dearborn that guarded the settlement in the early 1800s. One could say that the current Lindon Guarantee and Accident Company subsequently "guarded" the building wave that created the Loop.

We visited the London House hotel this past week and it was just as amazing as our last visit. The rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable and dreamy, georgegous bathroom, three excellent views, beautifully designed, and well supplied with bath essentials. The staff is also very amazing and take great care of us on every visit. In fact, they have demonstrated the best hotel service thus far. We also enjoyed dinner at the Land and Lake restaurant downstairs and it was delicious. We did go up to the rooftop and it was very pleasant vibe. Folks were having a great time and enjoying the view and the bar! This is also a central spot to watch the fireworks. We walked down a few blocks and got an awesome view!
We will be back soon!

Besides its architectural dominance, London Guarantee Building has a very advantageous location, in the center of the city bustling activities, across from the Michigan Ave Bridge.
During its ninety-five year old history, it's gone through several ownerships, renovations, and additions. This classic skyscraper (with some Greek architectural elements on the top) has been a host for an insurance firm, a home for several radio studios, for a jazz night-club and a steak house, and currently it is also a home for the Chicago LondonHouse, which is about 500 rooms upscale hotel facing the gorgeous Chicago River.
Very noticeable and memorable, quite impressive as a structure London Guarantee Building perfectly fits the strong character of the city.

Yet another iconic Chicago riverside building is the London Guarantee, as splendid has the Wrigley building on the opposite side of the river, worth a viewing.

This is a historic skyscraper located on the south side of the Chicago River at the Michigan Avenue Bridge crossing. It was built in 1923 upon the former grounds of Fort Dearborn. There are ground markers on the street in front of the building marking the location of the old fort.
The tower features a curved facade with embedded columns and interesting reliefs to view above the entrance. There is a also a Greek style columned pavilion on its top that you can see fairly well from across the river from Pioneer Court.

One of the cool buildings you see in Chicago. We got a little history on our architecture boat tour.

Quick two-night trip to Chicago for April baseball. Decided to try the London House and was not disappointed. Very friendly and accommodating staff. My junior vista suite was just the right size and I was able to take a nice selfie with the Trump building across the way - guaranteed to tick my wife off!!
I imagine that the outdoor bar on the 21st floor is a great place to be in warm weather!
Definitely staying there again. Convenient, clean, comfortable.

I’ve been to London House a couple times now, and wether its for drinks and food up on their beautiful roof top, or a stay in the luxurious hotel. London House is 100% somewhere you need to experience when in Chicago. Everyone is beyond friendly and it is truly and luxurious experience. 10 out of 10 !

Hubby and I stopped here to go to the Rooftop Bar, but it was a rainy day, so we decided to have a cocktail and sandwich in the interior bar. The building is beautiful and the bar was very cool, but very expensive and filled with young millennials who seem to have a lot more $$ to spend in a cool place than a couple of Baby Boomers like us. The Bloody Mary was $18.00-yes, very pricey. However the service was excellent and the waitress very friendly. We also shared a hamburger-again overpriced, but delicious!

On our river cruise, we noticed this building immediately, but never thought we would be able to experience it more closely. While walking back to our hotel, we thought we would poke our heads into the London House Curio Collection by Hilton, and noticed they had a rooftop bar. Now, it had just rained, so when we got to the top, the front desk of the bar said we could just go up - there was nobody there. Thanks nice people at the London House! What a place it is up there! Next time we're in Chicago, we'll stop by for a drink! On a busier day, I can't imagine people would be able to quite so accommodating!
