About
WNDR Museum is an interactive experience: a multi-sensory showcase of art and technology. Our message is simple: We are all artists. And as artists, our visitors are more than passive onlookers. Whatever they do in our museum, IS art. WNDR Museum disrupts and redefines the traditional museum experience by inviting guests to fully engage with artworks and multi-sensory installations created by cutting edge artists, collectives, technologists, designers and makers. As guests travel through WNDR Museum, they will be taken on a multi-dimensional journey where they will serve as an extension of each creator by interacting with various installations. No two visits to WNDR Museum are the same. WNDR Museum will consistently curate its experience by leaning in to cutting edge technologies to welcome new installations year-round.

Several sub-neighborhoods within West Loop make this a unique neighborhood to visit. Dotted with factories and warehouses, West Loop is packed with various types of dining and nightlife options. If your timing is right, you can take part in neighborhood events like the West Loop Farmers Market, Craft Beer Fest, or the Randolph Street Market Festival.

    Cool but way overpriced.
The reviews here warned me that this was an average experience, but I really love Yayoi Kusama and went anyway. This was not my favorite Yayoi infinity room. The museum is fun, but way overpriced. Maybe for $20/$25 but at double that for a one hour experience, I think you can pass

Meh - over priced and be prepared for the influencers
Took our 3 year old daughter, she had fun, but this place is also a nightmare if you can't handle the "influencers in the wild". Way over priced as well at about $45 / ticket after fees. Got some fun pics, was mildly entertaining, but also off-putting with lines at each installation of people looking to get their Insta pics.

    Rainy day Chicago fun!
This was a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon in Chicago! WNDR was everything we hoped it would be! We were in town for a concert and decided to spend a couple of days exploring Chicago. I'd seen it was going to rain our last afternoon in town and thought this would be a good way to spend our last couple hours there. It was perfect. I'm 45, and my daughter and her friend are both 19, and we all had a great time. We even played an intense game of giant Uno in the lounge upstairs. They have giant Jenga, Giant Connect Four, and some other games, as well as some refreshments and adult beverages for sale. They had two people doing poetry for donation when we were there as well, which I thought was pretty cool. Overall, it was a fun experience!

If this is your thing, you’ll love it!
If taking cool photos for your instagram feed is your thing, then this is the place for you. I’m not usually one to spring for a contemporary art experience like this, but it was interesting and held my attention for the duration of our visit. Most of the exhibits are interactive and had a digital component which was really cool. In our time in Chicago, this ticket was the second most expensive one that we purchased (right behind Shedd Aquarium) Do I think it was worth the price? Maybe. Like I said, if you love taking cool photos that you can post with your friends, you’re going to have a great time. I don’t think I would find a reason to come back here again, but for a “one and done” experience, I really can’t complain that much. You are encouraged to buy your tickets ahead of time for a certain time slot, but we were able to get in right when we got there (you can purchase tickets at the door) Staff was very friendly and the gift shop was well curated.

Interesting Participatory Art but Make This Lower on the Priority List of Chicago Museums
Definitely an interesting museum for looking at art from a different perspective. Most reviews say it takes about 45 minutes to complete and that is pretty accurate. They only take online tickets and the price is substantially higher than other musuems in Chicago. If you only have 1 day, spend it at the Field Museum or the Art Institute...you will spend a whole day of higher level learning rather than 45 minutes of a cotton candy experience.

Lots of unique exhibits and positive affirmations. It would be great for groups of friends or a family event!
Went here for my friends 50th Birthday. We had a blast. I would recomend taking your time in each room as its self guided but you can't go backwards. We loved how the lights and stuff worked in each room. There was lots of places for cool selfies. Don't forget to check out the bathrooms at the end as they also have exibits in them as well. Oh and the tasting station was also worth stopping for. The gift shop in the end is fun with games you can play and a wall of chips you can't find many place. I recomend trying one!

....oh wait, that was part of the museum. The museum contains a series of interactive art exhibits that lean much more heavily on the take a selfie and post it side rather than the interactivity side. Think of it as a children's museum for children with smart phones. Hefty admission fee. For much less, you can go to a children's museum and a modern art museum to see a Kusama exhibit but here you can combine the two so I guess that's something. Now, I've only been to a few places that offer the optical illusion photo opportunity with a staff member to take your photo so if you do go, be sure to bring someone with you whose height difference is quite noticeable. I can't imagine anyone over the drinking age to find this interesting because you've probably lived long enough to experience versions of these installations but maybe you haven't so see for yourself. I took my mother and we saw the whole thing in less than an hour, including waiting behind people taking selfies at each stop. She told me to never take her to these kind of places again. Art Institute was more her jam. (I marked travelled as solo because there's no family option w/o children. Some of us drive around our senior parents. That's family last time I checked.)

I do not understand why they say only purchase tickets online but when i got there people kept walking up and they were letting them purchase it right there and jump into line. What is the point of the selected times if you go in as a huge group anyways?
To many people, there was no time limits on things so people would bloc a whole exhibit for 10 minutes as they tried to get pictures. I get you want to take cute pictures but this is a Art exhibit and not a self museum. Very frustrating considering the over priced tickets. If you are an out of towner I do not recommend doing this on the weekend.

Friendly staff. Extremely expensive for what little is inside. Not a museum really at all. Poorly put together pieces such as a darker room enclosed with music playing it it, another with strip lights lined the walls, and a immersive room that really was just a projector showing scenery changing. The "famous" art display required you to put booties over your shoes (that had holes in them) not sure the point was dirty carpet in the room and only allowed you to be inside for 60 seconds. No bags allowed made you hang them up outside accessible to anyone in there. Was done in less than 45 minutes. Everything seemed kid friendly when we were there but would be boring for them. And if you would like to buy anything from the shop is card only no cash. If they drastically reduced the prices would stop in if local and displays changed. But definitely would not go out of the way to see it. Not worth the time or money.

It is criminal that they charge $32 ($39 with booking fee) for WNDR. As a solo traveller, I felt more like I was taking up space in the background of Instagram photos (not helped by one working saying “we’ll wait for that person (me) to leave” when taking a photo of a couple) then enjoying any sort of exhibit related to art. I was through the museum in just over 30 minutes, despite deliberately taking my time, even though I though I remembered it being advertised as taking an hour which is part of why I went.

23 and 25 year old couple looking for a cool experience. This museum was made for kids <10 years old. Very upset we spent ~$80 to come here when we could have used that for a great dinner. Unless you’re going for the kids, don’t come here.

Great immersive art experience. A little pricey, but worth it. You should spend at least an hour to experience it. Good for kids middle school and older. The Kusama exhibit was very cool and interesting to learn about this pioneering pre-Warhol Pop Art artist. Make your reservations online.

Absolutely not recommended, not only is it way too expensive for what it is. It is also completely outdated, lights that you can change color by turning, a wall full of sequins that you can rub, a room where mountains are projected on the walls... It didn't blow us away. The highlight is an installation by the artist Yayoi Kusama, which you can enter for 1 minute. The interactive floor was nice and the murals near the toilets. We were back outside after 45 minutes and paid a total of $183.68 for 4 people.

I went into this with no expectations per se and really enjoyed myself. Art is very subjective so the wndr museum is likely to impact people differently. Personally, I liked how some of the installations encourage people to let go a little and just go with the flow. Positivity, creativity and self expression seemed to be a subtle theme throughout which I appreciated.
