We walked on South Wabash Avenue and there, at the corner with E Van Buren Street we spotted this huge mural. Very interesting for me as I'm a big fan of this street art. But it shown need of some TLC.

Beautiful murals, relatively close in walking distance to each other. I only wish there were more and that they were closer together!

With over 40 murals to see walking the Wabash Corridor was pretty amazing. It's just a few blocks with all these murals crammed in. Go online and download a map. Beautiful!

A good idea would be to walk this route if you are headed in this direction anyway. We used it walking north to south. The installations are cool and some are photo worthy.

We took a walking tour of murals in the Wabash Arts Corridor, organized through Columbia College. Great fun! Although it was a very warm day, we found lots of shade. Our docent was excellent, providing us with lots of information about the history of the murals and why they were done in this area. If you're interested in a deep dive into art and history, this is a great tour to take.

Thanks for the heads up on the street art on S Wabash St. Lots to see on both sides of the street. It may be freezing cold, but a pit stop at the Colombia artist shop can help you defrost.

WAC is one of my favorite areas as I love to stay at The Blackstone Hotel on Michigan Ave. The hotel is located in the WAC and if you have the time, there is some amazing public street art in the area. I've even been able to watch as one installation by Jeff Zimmerman was being painting on a new apartment building in the area. There is an art school nearby as well, and the entire area, including The Blackstone Hotel, support the arts, especially local Chicago artists.
