There is just so much stuff in this one building - set aside time... it can be a bit overwhelming. But definitely one of the top 3 things to do in chicago.

What I read before about it, lead me to believe 3-4 hours would be enough to see what would interest us. We were very impressed with the amount of exhibitions with real high value. After starting normal, we realized is a lot to see, and...More

The wonderful collection of the Art Institute is a must visit when in Chicago. The museum has the best collection of impressionist painting outside of Paris. It has a very well balanced collection overall!

Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a

Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier
shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep
your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many
photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of

I would also suggest you get the headset where you punch in a number and your hear a fuller explanation about the art work. It cost $7. Highly recommended.

Yes! And you can purchase it on line and print it out at home. I don't think it is very much more expensive than general admission either. Go for it !
