Went with two friends to see Sound of Music but something went wrong and we wound up seeing Newsies instead. Not sure how it happened nor was it a big deal because the crew was extremely talented and captured our interest & held it for the entire show. Most of the performers I fully expect to see in theater & movies in the future as their talent was stunning & obvious to all that attended. They had a food truck, ice cream stand, ample porta potties, and a gift shop & ticket sales and all the staff were exceptionally kind. My disappointments were the sound system (as sometimes the mics cut out and you could not hear what the perforner was saying) & that the last show of Sound of Music is SOLD OUT 😭 and won't come around again for 3 to 5 years 😱 I do recommend bringing warm jackets, gloves, and warm blankets cuz it gets really cold after intermission. Suggest that if you have never been to a show....you are missing out on an incredible night 🥰 Kudo's to the dream, the vision, & the future of all this talent ♡♡♡♡♡

For what this theatre is (not Broadway), it is terrific. The setting is really pretty with trees, creek, and mountains in the background. The acting and singing is fine and makes for a pleasant evening. Go without expecting Broadway and you'll probably have a good experience. Price was very reasonable for seniors ($14). Very family friendly.

We stayed at the Starlight Theater’s little RV park with our little trailer. They offered full hookups and the campground hosts were very friendly and helpful. Quality customer service!

We were there to see “Footloose” at the little outdoor theater. Our first visit and what a treat!! Very entertaining cast! And the atmosphere of the outdoor theater was wonderful! We will definitely return!

I loved this little theatre. The facility and the play alone I would give 5 stars. The kicker for me is absolutely NO Covid concern. No spacing in seats, maybe 10 people at most had masks on. Very disappointing.

My other star dock is their 50/50 raffle. It was strange. So on Trip Advisor one of the reviews said it seemed rigged and he was calling BS on it. That perhaps played into my feelings as per I realized it happened before. First they changed the price of tickets 🎫 3x. And then when they drew the number the lady was talking to her friend next to her and they interrupted her and she called her aunt. So, the trip advisor review says an uncle won and I went and an aunt won. That’s weird.

The theatre however was INCREDIBLE! We saw Hello Dolly!

We took our granddaughters ages
6 and 22. They loved it and we did too. Going back soon. Do bring bug spray and a light jacket for evenings. No outside food or drink allowed but they do sell have hotdogs, popcorn, sodas at a VERY reasonable price. Also bring your raingear just in case because the show must go on.
The actors put on a great show. FIVE STARS.

A little home town mountain theater. Performances by local residences with children, they did a excellent job with the little mermaid, it gets chilly in the evening so bring a jacket.

Went up on a weeknight. Tickets were ordered on line and pretty easy. A bit expensive for the very rustic facilities. The cast were all young people with a great deal of energy. The young people did everything from seat guests to hawk food and clean up in addition to staring in the show.

We saw Shrek and the main character was difficult to understand at times probably due to the facial make up. The gentleman playing The short prince was hysterically funny and really stole the show!

Audience was filled with plenty of families and lots of children - which were distracting at many times, among themselves and the shushing parents.

In the past when we had been to a musical, the intermission was filled with acknowledgements of those guests celebrating special events such as birthdays or anniversaries, etc.

Sadly, this activity was replaced with a 50/50 raffle. I initially had felt that this type of thing was OK - given the small time theatre in need of some updating. However, after observing this play out. Whereby many tickets were sold - I bought some as well as a variety of snacks and beverages - trying to help the local economy. The artistic director sold the tickets having a roll of two different colors. Interesting enough, he had a young boy (family member) draw the winning ticket. The artistic director was handed a yellow ticket to which he declared, I know who the winner is as he was the only one who got yellow tickets - gee, another family member. The perception that the raffle was “rigged” was more solidified when the young boy sat down 2 seats from the winner and said loud enough to be heard a couple of rows away, that he did good by picking his uncle’s color ticket.

There was no mention of social distancing, mask wearing or hand sanitizer at anytime. You would have thought we were on another planet, not just in another county. Even though we took our own precautions for coved 19, We are now crossing our fingers as a ticket refund was not an option.

Will not return this summer for sure.

The play itself was entertaining and the outdoor theatre does make it unique.

We loved our visit to Starlight, we saw Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat. We took 2 kids, ages 5 and 8, both loved the show and did not want to leave. At the end, both were on their feet dancing and singing. We knew the songs and that made the show even more enjoyable. The actors were talented and great singers, plus they hang around after the show to greet the audience which really impressed the kids. A fun time for everyone. Be prepared to buy candy and bring a jacket.

It's not worth the long drive to hear a bunch of people from literally the same talentless family put on a play. You can see better at your local high school . Best part is sitting through a half hour of them singing thank you to their advertisers when they have a program that does that

Delightful show. Great costumes and special effects were both outstanding. We love the open air theatre.
