Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Here is the full review of Elijah Clark State Park.
This is site 51. It's on the water but it's hard to fish in this area due to the rocks. Best fishing is at the pier and in the coves.
The con of this site is that you have to use the fire pit for your grill. Other sites do have taller grills and even fish cleaning areas.
The bathhouse is directly across from the site and was pretty clean. However there are rules on the back of the stall doors that MUST be followed. 1. do your business. 2 flush. 3. wipe. 4. flush again. This PREVENTS sewage from backing up into the showers.
We paid the $5.00 per person to tour the replica Elijah Clark cabin. It is well worth it if you have children.
They have a few play-grounds, a mini golf course, corn hole, and other things.
We rode over to camp ground 2 and saw some major construction going on over there. It looks like they are building bigger cottages to rent. Then again we could be wrong.
Get your groceries on the way in! We drove 25-30 miles to the nearest Walmart. But the cool thing is, we went to Greenwood S.C. to shop. We ate a great meal at Carolina Tavern. (We blew a fuse in the electric jack and needed fuses therefore a Walmart was needed.)
The neighbors we had were all very quiet and friendly. No loud noises or anything.
You picnic table is concrete (watch for skinned knees and snagged clothing)
Pro: There are 2 (side by side) dump-stations to help speed up any lines that build
Another con is that our T-Mobile internet was dragging really bad. With that said we were still able to make phone calls and send texts.
We are three adults and one child traveling in a small camper. Camper is max (from tongue to bumper) 22 ft long with plenty of room.

Just spent 3 days listening to construction noise that started each day at 8am and went past 5. Have no problem with building a new bath house but people reserving sites in campground 2 should be made aware that you will not be enjoying the sounds of nature. Also, the cable apparently does not work anywhere in the campground. Also no mention of this on the website or when we checked in. I have been called a "Karen" for complaining about this but we like to keep up with what's happening in the world and have no other options.

This is a great place. I've stayed here now twice; each time for about a week.
It has a great golf course that is in great shape and is a true challenge. It's a great place to take your family.

Great park, most sites on the lake. Premium sites now have cable. Restrooms were very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again.

Let me start by saying Elijah Clark is a lovely park with many cabins and camp sites. The staff are wonderful. BUT...we reserved a cottage for the whole weekend. The cottage was very spacious but VERY outdated and it was pretty dirty. From the looks of it, the cleaning staff is in and outvwith minimal cleaning done. When we entered our cottage we saw several large dead roaches in which we had to hunt for a broom and dustpan to be able to remove them before our one year old crawler found them as a crunchy little appetizer. We had the forethought to bring Clorox wipes to wipe down the counters which had tiny dead flies on it. The outdated woodframed furniture had very worn cushions on it and the armrests were very sticky as if the finish had begun to break down. Fortunately we had the forethought to bring the babies walker. The floors "looked" clean but once you walked on it in stocking feet or barefooted, you found out there is a fine layer of filth. We put the baby down for a crawl later on and his knees and feet BECAME BLACK. We love this park but really wish that the cleaning crew would put forth some effort. There was a ring in the toilet, soap scum in the tub, cobwebs on and window frames, the intake filter for the A/C was full. We brought our own kitchenware. The paint has begun to peel in the bathroom. There was nothing in the cottage for us to use to mop the floor and we had to go off site to buy a Swiffer and we went through 12 pads in one pass. If we could have found a sponge mop and bleach we would have give the whole cottage a good cleaning, but there's not many places near by.

Spent a beautiful Saturday and the whole family enjoyed the place. $5 admission to get in is well worth it.. Nice little beach with picnic area next to it. canoe rentals and boat ramp on site. As a history buff, I enjoyed going to the grave of Revolutionary War General, Elijah Clarke and visiting his reproduction homestead=very nice. Hiking trails looked good. Camp ground appeared to be quite busy. We loved the refurbished mini golf course. 18 holes, and some were quite challenging. club and ball rental available, but if you bring your own you can play for free.. Very clean park-- will be back to maybe camp next time!

We booked Cottage #7, (accessible cottage) for a Fall Foliage Getaway, and to see dear friends nearby. They were the ones who recommended this beautiful state park. Check-in and front desk personnel were friendly and accommodating. The wild, natural environment suited us to a "TEE" with deer grazing in the meadows, and a beautiful lake setting, right behind our cottage. It was clean, well equipped with everything we needed (except food) for our 4 day stay. The cottages were all separate from each other, not crowded together - making for privacy - Ours was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, with large living room, and large kitchen. Plenty of room to spread out, and No Pets and No Smoking, which made for a pleasant experience. There were a few things that we had to mention to the front desk that needed attention (kitchen faucet leaked/dripped constantly, shower drain clogged, freezer of refrigerator smelled bad, and shower controls were hard to get adjusted). All in all, however, we would stay here again, when we are in this area again. Lake is right at the back door, so we were ready to drop a line, but turned out too cold and rainy.

Stayed 3 of our 4 reserved nights in # 56 - the last waterfront one on that leg of the loop. A little tight with trees but doable with our small TT. Campground filled on Halloween weekend and many were very cutely decorated. Bath house near us was older and fairly clean - and heated !! On check in day we had only come 27 miles from Mistletoe and had left there early due to a nasty incoming storm which wound up mostly staying south. At any rate the sweet staff at EC let us move in early - esp since our site was empty the previous night. Weather was chilly and drizzly 3 of our 4 days - final day was sunny but windy and cold so us wimpy Floridians bugged out a day early.

We rented cabin #1 at Elijah Clark State Park. The screened-in porch faces the water and sunrise (cabins 1-10 face sunrise, cabins 15-20 face sunset. Not sure about cabins 11-14). Great boating and good hiking trails. No biking trails. We launched our kayak in front of our cabin, but if the water levels were any lower it'd be difficult (plenty of boat launches around). Turkeys and deer passed near our cabin. Inside the cabin was clean with the exception of kitchen supplies/dishes/pans (responsibility of the renters to clean them). Overall the park was pretty quiet for a weekend.

Great place to set up home for a long weekend or even along vacation. Lake is clean with great fishing. There are lake front sites and non lake sites. Bath houses are always clean and stocked.

The kids loved to go to the volleyball court and the beach area.
