Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice wide walking paths, but dog dodo everywhere, on the path, sides of the path, smelly too. Shame on dog owners.

At this writing, March 2021, due to Covid19 restrictions, the access to the park , for the Mermaid show and to swim are limited. Check the web and schedule before going. We got there 45min. before opening, and got the last 4 < first come> tickets for the show. If you're in the area, come see it, but don't go too far out of your way. The rest of the park is small, but well set for milling around, if you're not going to get in the water.

Beautiful hiking through palms and ferns. Saw lots of birds. Best part was the manatees. Had an observation tower. Bathroom s available. Parking was free but goes to $10 in March. There was a small boat ramp and some folks were fishing there

Not to be confused with the Weekiwachee river, the preserve is a wildlife area that has numerous trails through flat, mostly sunny nature. Wild turkeys, deer, gopher tortoises, water birds, eagles and other wildlife live in the preserve. Best times to see wildlife are early morning or near dusk. This area is not a park. It is a nature preserve. This means basically no amenities. I live here and run in the preserve all the time but I’d never use the one bathroom. Numerous “hills” can be climbed if you want a nice view. Plan on how you will take out your own trash if you visit because there are no trash cans.

I spent a week in the area in Feb. Many days during that week I had the opportunity to walk with my best friend. This place has beautiful views of small blue lakes. Climb one of the hills in the preserve and you will view the Gulf of Mexico. Most people in the preserve respect the beauty and clean up after themselves and their dogs. For those that don't...please do!

Great place to walk among the many nature trails. We also love geocaching in the preserves. There is a paved road that is open on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, otherwise it is about a mile walk into the preserve area where the majority of the trails are. There are a couple picnic tables near the lake, and there is a bathroom, but not sure if it is always stocked.

We like to take bike rides through the preserve. Often see wildlife such as deer, birds, and reptiles. Once in awhile, you may see a bear, alligator, or even a bobcat.

The main road is paved, The side trails are not paved. It would be terrific if the county could pave some of the trails., The water in the quarries is pretty. It could be a really nice place to go to ride a bike if they would just pave some of the trails.

We were visiting from Michigan to escape the cold and look at houses. Wanting to make the most of the great weather we ventured here hoping for a nice long walk. We did get a great walk and some fantastic views. Parking fills up which could be a problem if you arrive at the wrong time but the biggest downfall was the lack of a decent bathroom. The bathrooms there were so disgusting that we did not get to see much of the preserve. About 30 minutes in my wife tried to use it and there was no TP and she stated there was feces all over the toilet and floor. We chose to head out to find a clean bathroom.
